In this guide I shall you teach you Sythe people how to tune your internet connection.

Step 1: Go to this site.
    http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

Step 2: At the top of the page, you should see this.
This is what we are looking for.

Step 3: Now download it and save it somewhere on your computer. (Vista and Windows 7 downloads are underneath)

Step 4: Open it and you should see this.
You only need this tab, don't worry about the other tabs on the tool.
    Click on "Optimal Settings"

Important note: Kbps means Kilobit per second. It does not mean Kilobyte per second. Lots of people get mixed up by those two.

Step 5: Okay, go to this site.
    http://www.speedtest.net/
You should end up with this page.

Step 6: Click the orange pyramid like said in the above picture and wait for the test to complete.

    Step 7: My end result
    [IMG]
Important note: Mbps means Megabit per second. It does not mean Megabyte per second.

Step 8: Go to this site if you need a Megabits to Kilobits Conveter.
    http://www.unitconversion.org/data-storage/megabits-to-kilobits-conversion.html
    (Recommended)

Step 9: Type in the result of your Download speed. My one was 9.59 mbps.

Step 10: Now go back to the tool you opened before.
9.59mbps = 9820.16kbps which is close to 10000. So I put the marker on the 10000, simple enough?

Step 11: Check the "Modify All Network Adapters"

Step 12: Click "Apply Changes". A window will pop up and click "ok" as well.
It will say for you to restart for the changes to take affect.

(It doesn't say any changes in mine because I'v aready done it)

Finish, your internet connection is now tuned and it should be running more sexy. Eg. Youtube streaming should be faster.

    Images made by me.
    I like pwetty colours..

Can your internet provider see this and do something about it? Considering that i'd be paying cheap, yet getting fast internet for no cost?

Does this have a major effect on your internet speed?

On a side note, Great Guide! I loved the pictures and the commentary about each picture. Also, great topic to pick considering everyone wants to have a great internet connection speed. One thing you might want to fix though is coloring and maybe centering your guide? Try it and see if it looks better.

    9/10 :D.

This is just like any other "speeding up your internet" guide.
So, I wouldn't worry about it.

Without doing this, I had to keep waiting when I want to watch something on youtube. I tuned it and it runs flawless. Oh, what does it mean by "coloring"? Thanks for the rating as well!

.66 Mb/Sec = 84.48 Mb/Sec. So on the marker it should say 54, put the marker just a bit after that. Hope that helped

Thanks for all the replies =]
