is there a tutorial about...

is there a tutorial about how to start making a small version of rs? like having a 2 by 2 grid of grassy ground like on rs an then have a monster? because i really want to learn how to make my own rs but change a lot of things and i know a few things about java i just dont know how to make a platform/floor like what things walk on on rs. can anyone help by talking to me on msn or giving me a tutorial or anything else? ive also tryed looking off of priv rs servers and looking at all the java stuff but there are to many things to pick out what makes the floor and how the objects stand on it and everything.
