An IDE better than Dev-C++ and IMO, MSVC. Loads of features, completely free and OSS.

What does this offer me over Emacs?

A proper IDE rather than a syntax-highlighting text editor.

Emacs is more than a text editor! It has support for compilation via gcc and makefiles, it's extensible through elisp, it has a web browser and an IRC client, which is why people laugh and call it an operating system.

Well, if you say so. I never got in to Emacs, just didn't like it. C::B does the job excellently for me, and is an excellent IDE to boot.

I use C::B on Linux. It's pretty good.
