I've seen this on another forum. Basically, if you double post, those two posts will merge into one. It'll work like this: Before double post. After double post. Thoughts?
Haven't they already fixed this problem. I'm pretty sure they did, because, today I didn't know if my post went through (it did) so I clicked submit again. It gave me a message saying something you already posted this message already. Or something like that.
It's not for posts that are identical, just ones that were posted too soon after another. I agree. Add automerge to posts from the same user within 12 hours (opinions?) and this only applies if they are the last person to have posted. /support
Nah that's just to prevent accidental posting of the exact same thing. If I changed just one character, the message would be double posted. I support the idea Gurt. It could cut down on these unwanted posts.
You raise a valid point, but your thread shouldn't be bumped up if you double post. That is if you mis-click twice, you get a 'You posted the same shit a while ago, bitch.' error. Look at this thread and Deacon's posts (don't infract him plz or he's gonna kill me). http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=889448&page=2
This has been suggested before and I don't see why it can't be added.... I double and triple post all the time, mainly since I just keep replying to people and just hitting quote when I see another post is easier than copying and pasting and editing.
Why don't you just report the double posts? I somewhat agree with this suggestion, and it's been mentioned already that if someone bumps their thread more than 3 times in a row, they should be infracted.
I support this, because I sometimes get too excited and post twice with different things being said not just bump bump.
It should be merged every hour or if the thread is on the first page since bumps are allowed once a thread reaches the second page
wouldn't this basically stop bumping though? You could have this add on but you would have to set the timer to like different times for each area. Like in RuneScape black market every 10 minutes, non-virtual items like an hour, etc. It matters by how many people are posting there and how fast you want to get a trade going.
Delete your previous post and re-post. Boom. Bumped. Oh, and is it possible to stop it from merging with the first post? If not, we should probably just disable it in the markets altogether.
No it wouldn't stop bumping. When it merges the new post with the previous it still brings the thread to the top
