Dose74 is a scammer

Dose74 recently scammed me for $135 through PayPal for RuneScape gold.

All was going well until this happened:

After proving I have a verified PayPal he then claims that he can't give me the gold because I did not provide a shipping address:


*I also explained to him multiple times that shipping addresses and seller protection are only used for items that are shipped, not virtual items.*

He then sent me a link of our first transaction together which had a shipping address (because I forgot to tick the box to exclude it)

Then he flat out tells me the only way to get my money back is to file a claim with PayPal:

After two days of having an open claim he finally ended the claim by refunding the money.

I decided I would try to trade again with a MM, then this happened:





He claims that a MM would be too much of a hassle.

In short what he did was scamming, he took my money and then refused to give me what I paid for, then said the only way to get my money back would be to file a PayPal claim, and even after filing a claim it took two days before he decided to refund the money.

In all honesty I'd like to see a ban take place, at the very least a permanent "TWC".

 

The thing here is, he didn't disagree to using an OMM. Users are NOT obliged to use free MM's, but not using an OMM is considered very fishy and can warrant a ban if we see fit. In this case, he refused to use a free MM and therefore can not be punished.

You both should have made the trade terms clear beforehand. He acted in his own defence by refusing to pay you for money that could possibly be returned (realise that ANY transaction can and almost always WILL be reversible regardless of how it is linked, or verified) and that is not an offence.

The only unsure thing about this trade is that it took him 2 days to return the money, but he did in the end. Refusing to use a free MM is not an offence, refusing payment because of lack of comprehension and coming to agreement beforehand is not an offence IF he refunds you.

EDIT: reopened, I'll gauge some other mod opinions on this.

 

The fact that he refused to refund you, and instead told you to open a dispute is unacceptable. He did, however, refund you in the end and therefore, I will not ban him.

However, I do think this warrants a TwC, so therefore, I will request one.
