Donations should not be charged a premium, offer direct donations with clear time

Sythe should accept donations directly from users and not through 3rd party users.
- I realize the reason for not doing this is because scammers will make a donation just for the rank and scam.
a workaround would be to have clearance times
For example, Paypal donations will have to wait the 45 day claim period before the rank is given.
Checks would have to wait the 5-7 business day clearance through the bank before rank is given etc.
BTC donations directly to sythe would be instant etc.


3rd parties should not be allowed to charge a PREMIUM (i.e. $7 for a $5 donation) on a donation, profiting off this forum's user's good will is just wrong in my opinion.

The current system drives away many donors because it is simply too complicated and also some people, myself included, feel wrong about having to pay a premium to donate money to the forum. I believe the forum is missing out on a lot of donations by keeping this system and a new system would be beneficial to everyone.

Even if you dont agree with the above I think this suggestion is brilliant and should definitely be taken under advisement:
Offer direct ANONYMOUS donations to sythe. No scammer would make an anonymous unrecognized donation and this would allow users who simply want to make a good faith contribution easy access to do so.

 

You should have really looked through the hundreds of other suggestions exactly like this before you posted this one. Pretty detailed multiple response thread literally 2 or 3 below this one even. Not trying to be rude just don't waste your time in the future and look through some suggestions to see if your just beating a dead horse.

 

It is already possible to donate directly for Sythe if you meet the requirements:

- minimum $5 donor
- 100+ posts
- member for at least 2 weeks

Bond holders are needed to accept alternative payment methods (rsgp, wu, pa) and they protect Sythe from chargebacks on their PayPal account. I don't think a clearance time is a brilliant idea tbh. A direct BTC option isn't a bad idea but Matthew doesn't want to add it:

Also there are OBHs that do not charge a fee like me and video.

 

If someone had the choice between waiting 45 days to get a $5 rank or choosing to donate through a bond holder who charges a % that scales the amount, I'm sure 10 out of 10 people would avert the 45 day waiting period.

This suggestion is irrelevant now that the amount of OBH's who don't charge fees outnumbers those that do.

That said, I think the stickies for fee-free donation services is working - bond holders are moving towards free services. Now there's four!
