Donations and Miniranks.

What do you guys think about them? I think they are really cool, especially the miniranks. They look like fun to collect.

Why do people even donate? What do you think about people donating?

 

Well here's a few

Trust Value - It's easier to deal with trades under the amount you donated for.
Perks - There are a lot of beneficiary upsides to donating. Eg: Customization profiles.
Helping the site - Donating alone helps the site maintain it's stabilization and growth.

What do I think about people donating? It's whatever, there isn't much to think about.

Miniranks are cool, but need to be distributed better.

 

I agree with you about the miniranks. They are to easy to get and to easy to sell.

 

Easy to get? Nah bruh. They are only distributed by admins on proper grounds. The recent amount of users obtaining miniranks are due to them suggesting miniranks. Whoever suggested an approved minirank, got that minirank.

The only other way is to win a contest/competition.

They were originally fun ranks turned into a market commodity due to the minirank trading update.

 

Ahhhh I thought you could just buy any minirank of the market.

Not really much of a discussion topic. Mini ranks are something small to collect while we browse and such, some obtained for taking part in different forums etc.

Donations people want the trust value, considered Sythe insurance I guess. That and some people owe their entire bank balance to Sythe, Those who have the additional money may well feel obliged to kinda pay back.

I think the mini ranks are getting ridiculous. It seems like there's one for even the most trivial things.

 

Not happy with how mini-ranks turned out. I was the one who suggested mini-ranks be implemented with the intent they be used to promote activity and actually be meaningful. I've built a bridge though.

When people start spending $200+ on tacky looking miniranks and equating trustworthiness to the amount of miniranks an individual has, you know something went wrong.

Seems like the majority of people don't like mini ranks. Never thought that they were getting this out of hand!

 

Some miniranks are necessary. I believe the 2fa icon is a great thing to have. Of course though. I think the miniranks should be made smaller and put in a single line near the left your join date.

 

That isn't a bad idea. It would make your profile neater from this perspective.

 

How are miniranks obtained, i know i sound dumb but yeah just wondering

 

There are miniranks that you can get based off your activity in a particular section. These miniranks are untradable and are automatically given depending on the amount of posts you make.

The tradable miniranks are obtained from competitions or trading in the sand box forum.

 

I think you should get a minirank for your donation, like a minirank of '$25' in a small circle under your post count, instead of it in large text next to your name. I just personally don't like the idea of donating to look trustworthy. It should be a bonus to donating because you want to give back to the site.

 

Donations are on another tier than miniranks - they are actual ranks, why would there be a donation minirank as well?

 

I mean, instead of them being there own tier I think they should be miniranks instead..
