What position do you play? Why?

I started off playing support since I had four friends who enjoyed playing the other roles, so whenever I played with them I would get the "shitty role". I came to absolutely love supporting, but realized at my ELO I couldn't really impact the game as a support as much as the other positions. I swapped over to ADC, and now I consider it my best role. I obviously try my best no matter which position I get, just when I'm in the mood to hard carry a game I queue up and take the ADC position.

What position do you play, and why? Do you play top because you like to scrap it out? Mid for the assassins and roaming plays? Bot for the synergy with your lane partner? JG for objective control?


Sorry in advance if we already have a thread like this going, I tried looking through the first few pages of this section and didn't see anything else like it so I decided to go ahead and make one.

 

I don't have a preferred position so much as I just have a few champions that I like to play in whatever role they are. They change around a lot; I usually play them until they get boring and then jump to new ones. Right now it's TF and Jax jungle, but before that it was Panth top and Kayle jungle. I guess what I've been doing has been building up my champion pool little by little.

I do try to stay away from playing bot whenever I can though as I feel that the roles are low impact and not a lot of fun, unless there are picks that are particularly strong - I played a lot of Brand and MF until recently.

 

I kinda had the same as OP, I started out as support which I (still) love but I just have to play a carry role in order to win. The elo I am in most of the times carries don't use my support skills in the right way. When I started to play in gold it was easier for me to pick support and have a good chance of an adc actually knowing how to react.

Also when non-ranked I play a lot of jungle aswell, because almost all of my friends can't/don't want to jungle.

 

I'm jungle/mid. I like mid because it just allows me to make plays and I really loved mid in S3 with assassins like zed and what not.

I just kinda like how peaceful jungling is, I can just meander about and kill some people.

 

I'm really into skillshot champs atm, meaning my two favorite roles would be mid/sup.

Thresh is one of my favorite, hopefully could record a few clips soon.

 

Jungle>Support>ADC>Mid

 

I was forced to main Mid/Jungle. In the lower Elo's i cant afford to let randoms take such high priority positions. I've always considered myself a support main and it's always been my favorite. I probably have 350 games played as thresh alone.

 

ADC and Support mostly, not really the strongest roles to carry from (especially early) but what I'm most comfortable with.

 

Mid Lane, or Jungle. Why? Becuase I play Solo Qeue primarily. Jungle and Mid are primarily the easiest roles to carry from, as a Mid laner I can actively bank either top or bot. Jungle is the same, ganks influence the outcome of lanes. By contributing to other lanes you increase the chances of winning. I've managed Diamond 2 Solo Qeue. Duo'd to Diamond 1 with my IRL mate, played duo bot and destroyed our opponents.

 

Past few days I've been starting to play support more in ranked again. Seems to work pretty well for now.

 

Nice man, who have you been playing? I've been going Braum when I'm thrown into the support role, and it's been going really well. Easy to make up for your ADC's mistakes in lane, and peels / engages really well.

 

When I have to play on my laptop w/o a desk, I'm pretty much forced to play either faceroll champs, or support. But when hardware isn't holding me back, I'm game for pretty much anything.

 

ADC > Jungle > Mid > Support

 

well atm I have mostly playing thresh as it's my go to support pick. Got 8.80 KDA atm on Thresh . Other than that I like playing Blitzcrank in low elo, because I can just reck the whole game with #madlife plays. I am maybe looking into picking up Braum and Allistar as they seem to fit the meta the best at this moment.

 

Mid usually because easiest role to carry from imo

 

You like going assassins, or more utility-mage type champs?

 

I really do enjoy playing ADC as I enjoy doing a lot of damage and staying away from everyone

 

Varies depending on the meta but I'm going back to assassins like Zed at the moment.

Played it since Season 2 and just kind of stuck with it, definitely not the best role to carry out of and if I haven't put so much time into it already I'd have probably switched roles.
