PS3 or Xbox 360?

I was wondering, whats better to have. A PS3 or a xbox 360? Please tell how and why.

 

The PS3 is superior as a console and has a Blu-Ray player.
The Xbox 360 has more exclusive games and has "Xbox Live" as long as you pay.

Overall I would say PS3 if you have no friends and want a real good console.
Well actually, the PS3 has a pretty good free online thing too but I prefer XBL.
The 360 if you want to compete and play with friends online, and want "more" games.
There's also project natal coming out on the 360 in a year or so, hopefully.

The Xbox 360 is mostly sold in the UK, AU, and USA.
The PS3 is sold basically world-wide.

There are more Xbox 360's in the United States than Playstation 3's.
I would go with the 360. Cheaper, and most of your friends will have it.

 

Ah. Problem is I bought PS3 cuz all of my friends have the PS3. Lol. I only prfer xbox because its games have more money in the tournaments. I'm a gamer so thats why thats a thing i look at.

 

I'd say PS3, I have one and it's great but that's just my opinion; perhaps open a poll and see which one is voted better.

Xbox 360 gets my vote.

 

ps3, don't have to pay for batteries for remotes, no 250.00 head sets, no paying for online.
Everything is the same, but cost little more and not as many games as xbox360.

And whoever said the ps3 is more expensive, is obviously a dumb ass.
You pay 60$ for live every year with xbox, therefore at the end for 2 years, it's already 120$.

You say you're a gamer, so you somewhat bought the wrong console. Xbox 360 is solely made for gaming, while ps3 is just an overall better system only because their is a wide variety of other things you can do on it. Xbox 360's online is much better than Ps3. More people may have the 360 console, but that's only because it came out a year earlier than the Ps3, and it still has a good amount of problems.

- Fewer/but very good games

Yeah ps3 has better graphics but who gives a sh-- when the difference between them is marginally different.

Ps3 online sucks balls as it always lags and takes ages to find games. With the 360 Live you get what you pay for... a quality service and the ability to join chat partys with all of your mates without being in the same game. And NO laggy games.

Ps3 controller is absolutly awful, you have to invert both of your thumps to control the thumbsticks and the pad design doesn't fit your hands. Good for driving, terrible for FPS.

Ps3 has no good games (Apart from resistance 2, which is meh) going for it anymore. Metal Gear is comming to the xbox in 2010 so that's no longer an exclusive game anymore. 360 has MILLIONS of better games like Halo 3 and Fable 2.

Ps3 is more expensive than 360, "oh but it has blu-ray!" who gives a cr--, your buying a games console not a Dvd player! and plus it's an awful blu-ray player and now you could buy a decent blu-ray player with the amount of cash you save from buying your 360.

Um... who said the 360 has more exclusives? GoW1 & 2, Fable 2, Halo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2 (PS3 has a different one though), and that's about all I care about. Seeing as 3 of those 4 suck (guess which) I'd say they are basically even (actually I'd argue the PS3 is better but that would ruin my point below).

The thing is, the PS3 and 360 are basically interchangeable at this point. Sure the former is more expensive, but your choice should depend on which has the best games, not the most. I'd say the PS3, which has MGS4 (second best game ever, behind Portal), Gran Turismo series (Forza can kiss my ass), Infamous (amazingly fun), Killzone 2 (it's story is almost as bad as Halo 3 and GoW's, but the graphics and gameplay are top-notch), Resistance 1 and 2, and loads more.

Then again, I prefer the fully integrated console, or the PC as it's sometimes known (yes I quoted Yahtzee word for word, sue me).

No, if you looked at E3 2009, Microsoft announced Natal (or operation "fuck all of our hardcore gamers in the ass"), I think this is a stupid idea, as is the PS3 Motion Wand and the Wii in general. Anyhow, Microsoft isn't releasing a new Xbox for a while, since they still think Natal is a good idea.

I stand by my comment made in a different forum, all motion sensing is unimmersive and gimmicky, and I am disappointed in all of the big three for indulging in this casual gaming bullshit. I'm okay with serving the casual market, but this is fucking ridiculous.

Graphics are kind of what make it possible to enjoy the game.

I've never had lag on PS3 servers. They are all dedicated and evenly spread out. Also, you can join chat parties on the PS3 as well.

You can't argue controller ergonomics. I personally have smaller hands, so the PS3 controller is better. Also, what the fuck is a thump?

Most people I know, including Xbox owners, think Fable 2 and Halo 3 are generic shit. You probably come from the same breed of people who think Portal is shit and wanted L4D2 to be released as soon as possible. Also, the Metal Gear game is just a hack-and-slash, it isn't a continuation of any story. Of course it would be multi-plat. Also, the 360 only has 3 notable mainstream exclusives, all of which are mediocre at best.

Your first sentence sounds like the result of a bitter HD-DVD lover. And it is not "awful", it's the best player out, and updates itself unlike the other ones. Check your facts.

This last line is hilarious for reasons I don't want to get into.

I choose the PlayStation Three.

To the people who say the PlayStation Three controller sucks, try playing a fighting game on the Xbox Three Sixty directional pad. I mostly play fighting games, and I wouldn't want to ever use a Xbox Three Sixty directional pad to play Tekken games.

I don't believe any exclusive game on the Xbox Three Sixty has ever got a ten out of ten, but the exclusive Metal Gear Solid Four has got a ten out of ten on IGN. There might be more games on the Xbox Three Sixty, but not better exclusives that has a rating of 9.0 or higher by IGN.

People have up to I believe fifteen people in one text chat while you can be in game. Video chat can have up to six people on the PlayStation Eye talking I believe. The gameplay online is the same for both consoles, two good connections is good connection, one good and one bad connection will lag a little bit, and two bad connections will lag also. There's much more that I can talk about.

If you're playing for money then you should base it off your skill set. If you're a trash Halo 3 player, but amazing... god, I don't even know PS3 games, I'd get that.

Overall, I like the 360 because of the game selection. Not to mention the exclusive downloadable content that comes out ages before the PS3's.
