Does Karma Exist?

Hey guys. Although my religion does not believe in karma I have a feeling it exists. For those who don't know what karma is, it can be basically be summed up by: "What goes around, comes around." What do you guys think? Let the discussion begin!

 

Its only exists if you believe it exists.

Example - When people look they will find, when People don't look they will not find.

So When you look for your car keys one day you will find them but if you dont look for them there not going to come to you...

So when you do something nice to some one you look for karma so if you find $5 on the ground you think to your self, ohh thats because I helped Jimmy find he's Cat.

And On the other Hand.

You back Stab some one, Maybe a week later you lose $5 you then think to you self, Ohh that because I back stabbed Bob last week.

 

I think it exist's if you want it to exist The world would be a better place if everyone belived in karma

 

I want a turtle to exist in my room, but alas it doesn't.

If the world believed in and abided by karma we'd be mindless organisms acting on frustration and flawed justice, rather than reason; something that has enabled us to evolve into our current form.

 

I believe in it and that's all that I need for proof of it.

 

I think the way people have evolved is way too far beyond the actual comfort level we need. I wouldnt mind living in stone age or whatsoever.

 

Off Topic however:

You've asserted that their is an actual comfort level that humans need. What is it? How is it measured? Says who?

Also, even if we reverted back to the ways of the old, Darwinism, and a human tendency to always want more will see to our re advancement.

On topic Karma is just another belief used to keep us in line for some fear that a parent figure will spank us. If you ask me to any extent I believe karma in itself is a hopefully flawed ideal, because humans are flawed, and corrupt which will lead to an idea like karma being used in a way its original adaptation did not intend.

It only exists if you allow it to exsist. Be careful with how you do things and nothing bad will happen

that's a stupid argument.. Karma is being defined as what goes around comes around, as in when you done something, you "create" something else to happen to you...

you're talking by mere coincidence, you do not say HOW or WHY the "$5" had come to you

 

From my point of view, I think it exists. Most people that are assholes to others, get a slap in the face at one point or another.

ex.
saying that man will always seek to attain complete dominance because he is inherently aggressive ect.

imo, if not for the incredible amount of expansion in the past few hundred years into the west, half the world would still be living with nature.

 

tbh i don't believe in karma. its life that brings you the bad.

 

I personally think that if you believe in karma, then it does exist to you. If you don't, then it doesn't. The people that believe in karma end up interpreting certain coincidences as karma, as the people who don't believe in karma just move on with life. Karma or not, if something gets at you, you learn to deal. If something doesn't, you move on.

 

In my personal opinion, no. I do not believe in any invisible force that can record my actions and then later on use them against me. However, despite believing the way I do, I do tend to live by "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".. It's a moral thing for me though, not that I believe that if I did something bad something bad would happen to me.

Just as an example, I'm sure many of us can name like 10 people off of the top of our heads who probably don't deserve all of the things they've been given in their life but have suffered no negative consequence as a result of their bad behavior.

 

I am not sure, but.

I have done a lot of bad things in my life, and in this past year I have had a lot of bad things happen to me. The past 9 months has been the worst of my life, and it is still going on at the moment except everything is kind of winding down.

If karma does exist, hopefully all my bad karma has been used up by my experiences within this last year.

 

Things happen and people look for reasons for that happening. The reality of it is, happenings are mostly influenced by human choice.
