Is staking pure luck?

Well I bought 300M off Nick 2 weeks ago , managed to turn 300M in 13B mage boxing , ---> Then went down to about 2b and I sold the 2B.

A week ago I bought 400M and tryed to stake again to sell it for more >.>
Ended up getting cleaned again.

Yesterday I bought 300M and ended up getting cleaned in a half hour.

So my question is , is it worth it?

PS : All of this was done mage boxing , ancients.

 

Id say its luck. But once you win, walk away and come back another day before you get to carried away and fucked.

 

Its sort of luck and skill as depending on the type of staking you are doing their are various tactics that could put you or the enemy in an advantageous position. For example who hits first or whether you switch between attack and block .

Well in your case mage boxing is all luck, any time both players have same stats/gear and are using the same attacks your basically letting runescape roll a dice to see who wins. My suggestion for staking is, make a lower level staking account

 

If your maxed then its luck.

 

If your doing boxing/mage boxing it is all about luck.

I did the same as you and got cleaned also.

 

Nobody here has pointed out that using PiD can easily turn "luck" to one person's favor. Guaranteeing your hit will always strike first means a lot in a Mage box, where about 10 hits is all it takes. You getting an 11th hit is a significant advantage.

 

What's PiD? Staking is luck, but also skill. Switching styles will give you a slight advantage, although they are probably doing the same so its evenly mathced, which makes it luck. You could do Ritual of the Mahjarrat, for Storm of Armadyl, which hits more but there's loads of quests that need completeing.

It's all pure luck.
You can't win forever see it as that.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just stop at 13B. That's like $9000 USD dude.

 

It's luck, and maybe PiD increases your chance of winning the stake. But overall it's totally luck-based, unless bugs/glitches are taken into consideration. That can make a stake 100% win or 100% lose whatsoever.

 

Pid is Player Identification number , like you got Pid 2000 and someone else got pid 3000 , you're at same distance from item on floor, when you'll both click at same moment that item to pick it up, you'll both walk on it, but player with lower pid (for example 2000) will get it to inventory.

 

How would you find ones "PiD"? And I was never aware of this, is it allowed?

 

Once you win you should walk away. It is mainly down to luck.

If you weren't happy with 13B then what would of you been happy with? No amount is enough when money is coming so easily. The hardest thing to do is actually walk away with an awesome profit. Especially 43x your original investment.

But yes, it's luck. Unless you know a way of guaranteeing a win, then it's luck.

 

If you have to ask whether it's luck or not, I dunno how you got up to 13B. You got really lucky.

There are methods to give yourself a slight/distinct advantage over opponents, such as PID, but nothing (short of glitching) guarantees you a win.

 

If you box, it all comes down to maths, knowing your odds and betting large when your odds are higher and small your odds are even.
First duel your odds of winning are 1/2 lets say you lose, your odds of losing go to 1/4 then 1/8 then more your odds increase, start betting large. Doesn't always work out but thats the way you should stake, or you can double.
