the threat of terrorism at the olympics

what do you feel the chances of a terrorist spectacular is at the bejing Olympics i feel its is hight as the people of Tibet are treated like slaves thus inducing terrorism to get there point across what do you feel?

I don't think that the people of Tibet are very terrorist-like.

However, there are a lot of Islamic militants who have a bone to pick with China.

 

I highly doubt that anything will happen, but you just never know. China seems to be taking appropriate anti-terrorism measures and then some; but who knows.

 

i think that china will atempt to the last string to stop terrorism but i have a feeling that the militants will try something just, if for nothing else to prove china is not invincible!

The only terrorism seems to be in the far corner so far but I'd be more worried about watching the war in Georgia than terrorists at the olympics though they may get the closing ceremony

Well they've been talking about it on the news (over here anyway) and it was mentioned that a large proportion of spectators are in fact military so I think they're doing a good job, but there's a long way to go.

 

yes and you have to think those military people have no choice they are forced in the army and the atmosphere must be tense.

 

I doubt there will be a notable terrorist attack. There are only a handful of terrorists in the world, and not many of them are equipped or interested in the Olympics.

nah, the olympics will be fine. The security is pretty tight I've heard.

 

I never thought of terrorism at the olympics... hmm good call someone could blow the whole stadium up... but lets not give anyone ideas. =|

 

it dosent matter what your security is like if half a million titbet inhabitents realise there getting a raw deal and revolt?

 

actually iran was told (i think it was iran) they can't come to compete in the olmypics two weeks or more before it started.

also two american people were randomly attacked yesterday...

-1 killed
-1 injured
-the attacker jumped off the two story building to his death.


so hopefully the olmpics sould be okay thsi year



plus...we have a war goin on in iraq... the onlympics is a place where all of us come together and forget our differences to simply play the sport.

A few days ago, there was a bombing at the Chinese border and 40+ were injured, and 10+ were killed.
