Does breaking the Terms of Service result in a ban?

For example.

Someone is offering Hand-done services for OSRS accounts. I give him my account, and instead of training it by hand, he uses a bot and gets it banned. His TOS says that all services are hand done and this was even agreed on.

Does this constitute a ban for the user?

 

I dont think he'd be banned, he'd have to refund you though.

It's hard to say he botted your account or not since nowadays he could just say he played on a flagged IP/proxy which resulted in a ban.

Unless you have irrefutable evidence that he botted, (him admitting he did) then maybe he'd get a twc/ban.

 

I thought it was a BAN but I think its on a case by case basis.


In your case I think it falls under the scamming/tos violation rule so he'd be banned under the full amount was repaid to you.

 

Generally rules that aren't explicitly stated are handled on a case by case basis.

The user could be told to refund the value of the account, TWC'd, or banned. Really depends on the details and staff discretion.

 

If you can prove it's a bot, it would probably be a ban for him and an unban on the condition that the account's value is refunded.
