need help with a few songs

Ok well my band and I want to do a few cover songs and I was wondering a couple things

I was watching metalocalypse the other day the episode titled "religionklock" and I was wondering what song did they copy there beat from at the christian rock band thing when they were watching prayer bolt play truth invaders.

another thing isn't there a rock or metal version of tears in heaven by eric clapton. I would like to do that song but I don't like how the original feels (don't get upset lol not disrespecting the song it's a great song)

and anyways I believe that is about it.
