LOL..oh man that was a good one but if you get a black belt and youre a white belt in reality they'll throw you out of the gym lol they're serious about tht sht

 

It really really depends on where you go. In most legitimate dojos, a black belt should take ~5 years or more, with tests (written, top finishes in tournaments, sparring, etc).

 

What he said but if you go to the overly commercialized places they will give you a black belt in a year or two. They get you to stay by giving you different degree's in black belts.

 

I remember going to my friends karate practice and they would get a belt every other week...we were like 8 though
