Do you think the USA government should use torture methods on terrorists?

As long as the terrorist is actually a terrorist and not just some random muslim that was racially targeted as a terrorist then yes, torture the shit out of him. :nuts:

Morally speaking, the torture is wrong and should be stopped.

On the other hand; if it's keeping me from being nuked in my backyard, I don't mind if people are stripped and threatened with their phobias.

I believe that we should use torture methods. Your pretty much telling the terrorist that its ok to kill thousands of people without going through the hell that they made others go through.

 

Just a little critique here - using this "eye for an eye" kind of punishment, you would most likely be using an explosive or other incendiary device, and not stripping them, exposing them to their phobias, and using chinese water torture.

Not that I'm against the torture, just clearing that bit of your post up.

Terrorists believe that if they are killed they are martyrs. Would it not be better to make them serve a lengthy sentence instead?

 

When it comes to protecting our people I feel we should torture them to get information, the information can save a lot of our people's lives, as well as I don't feel any sympathy for the terrorists, I don't think someone who wants to blow themself up as well as us should be considered to have any rights.

Physical punishment doesn't effect much. All it does is makes the person suffer - but then the person will do it again. There have been many cases where the person would inject liquids into themselves that would numb their whole body, before being tortured - in my understanding

 

Yep - I do beleive they should! Because they had their chance and they blew it. Its the only way to win and be safe.

 

Whoever was pro torture is a fucking idiot. When people are tortured they will say ANYTHING to make it stop. It doesn't matter if they're innocent, or the information they are giving is faulty, they WILL talk. And half the time what they say is too addled by what you've done to them to have much direct relevance to the questions you are asking. Torture is barbaric and sets you on the same level as the terrorists. I don't advocate any form of it whatsoever.

 

It is highly looked down upon in the US. But I believe they shouldn't be tortured. Their leaders said that they would be a hero, and their act of violence will make them powerful. I don't mind if they get tortured, but they have to remember why they did it.

I think torture is only okay in limited circumstances where U.S national safety is at risk and the interrogation methods should be released to the public afterward if it does not interfered with our national security.

 

I don't think they should. Terrorist are still human. But I think they do need to be tortured for information and for the pain they have caused.
