    Reasoned Arguements Against God

Christianity is a very widely believed Religion accepting that the world was created by a all-powerful being known as God. Before I start you first must know I will be talking about Creationists and Theists. Creationists believe in no Evolution or Big Bang, but they believe God made humanity from scratch. Theists believe that there is Evolution and Big Bang but they believe God started everything.

First of all we must understands Micheal Shermer's ten Guidelines of Balony Detection or as i preferre to call it "the 10 commandments of theory" if a theory does not follow one of these commandments it is probably wrong.

    1. How reliable is the source of the claim?

    2. Does the source make similar claims?

    3. Have the claims been verified by somebody else?

    4. Does this fit with the way the world works?

    5. Has anyone tried to disprove the claim?

    6. Where does the preponderance of evidence point?

    7. Is the claimant playing by the rules of science?

    8. Is the claimant providing positive evidence?

    9. Does the new theory account for as many phenomena as the old theory?

    10. Are personal beliefs driving the claim?

So i will be talking about Creationists, they believe that the world is approximately 6,000 years old. However, using Carbon Dating we can say that the world is more then 6,000 years old, in fact it is much older. Now, many Creationists choose to dismiss carbon Dating as false and fake, but then you are breaking rule 10, Data has no personal beliefs, it just is, also this supports rule 8 for scientists, and shows that Creationists have yet to show any of rule 8.

Some Christians say that God brings good will and loves all... a simple question can be asked, "why do bad things happen to good people?" Christians say, "God works in mysterious way" translated could mean "I don't know" Atheists say "Bad things happen to everyone at any one time, Regardless of there moral choices" People could ask, "If I don't go to hell and consequences are the same everyone, why shouldn't I just murder people?" the answer is "Humans can be incharge of there own Consequences and the Consequences of others, ie Law... People have conciosness and they still feel pain, and have loving families, so killing them would be still a very BAD IDEA"

God can be Disproven in a Theists eyes... What happened before the Big Bang, the universe was a small particle, it was fully compacted and was extremely dense. The Universe was still expanding in mass and energy and finally reached breaking point, this caused the Big Bang. The particle before the Big Bang was known as a singularity. the Singularity was not made up of elements or substance, it was only energy, so doesn't it sound rather odd that something as complex as a human or an all-powerful human may i add to be created right there and then? (PS: we have science to back up the Singularity so rule 8 applies.)

This may seem childish and some people may not take it seriously, but it is serious. "If God is all Powerful, can he make a weight so heavy that he cannot lift it?" If a theory has a paradox it cannot be true.

Some people ask "why try to disprove god" i say, if you believe in Imaginary things, you are delosional, and considering that most authority figures are christian, this is a bad thing, and this should be fixed. Some christians also try to answer unexplained questions with "God did it" Atheists say "We don't Know, lets try to find out" thus atheists expand the word of science and christians don't. (rule 5)

Also if you do not like my disproof and say that "you cannot disprove god" i simply say, "something that has no proof, needs no proof to be proven"

The 'days' which are mentioned in the bible arnt believed to be days. Each creationist belives differently, for example, a 'day' might be 1million years.

to say "they believe that the world is approximately 6,000 years old" is completly wrong

It seems self evident that something which 'has no proof' can't be proven.

    Reasoned Arguements Against God

    Re: z0mg str
According to the bible, God knows how and when we were born and god also knows how and when we will die. If god did give us free will how could he possible know when we died before we died, Do not say, "he is all powerful" because i already explained how nothing can be "all powerful"

I do not want to go into the complications of the big bang, (and i am sure you are smart enough to realise that there is major proof of the big bang) but i will give you a fun little example of proofing of the big bang... Static. when a Television is broadcasting but cannot reach a signal, you would think all you would see is black... but instead we see many black and white dots moving and changing at increadable speeds, this is known as television static, and i am sure you have seen it before... Television static does not happen for no reason, it is a visual representation of the original radiation of the Big Bang that is getting received by your Television. I can always give you a link on more sophisticated proof of the big bang if you continue to ask...

"can god make a weight so heavy that he cannot lift it n/a" See! i knew people would not take this seriously, but i urge you to try to take it seriously, "BECAUSE IT IS SERIOUS" it is a paradox that proves a being cannot be all powerful, if a theory has a paradox you cannot call it a theory, that is why scientists claim it is impossible to go back in time, because if you went back in time and shot yourself, then the action had stopped its cause, so the action would not of existed, and therefore the cause would still exist, (and if the cause exists the action also exists and it loops over itself forever)

("atheists say "We don't know, Lets try to find out" no they don't) theoritically speaking of course, humans need answers and if they don't know those answers they try to look for them. But Christians think they already know the answers about where we came from, and so they don't look for them. It is similar to when scientists claimed that you could not make an organic substance with inorganic metarial, This almost stopped organic chemistry because no body looked for a way to do it, it was deemed as impossible, but a famous scientist discovered it is possible, he made urethra (a salt commonly found in urine) out of inorganic meterials and thus proved the first rule wrong and organic chemistry was beginning to continue again...

oh, and the age thing, the fact that people do not seem to be able to know when the age of earth is, and that "some Christians believe different things" should be enough to show you that the theory is not particularly [rock hard] and is not very accurate

Before you start an argument about God, have the knowledge of both sides:
    The atheists, and the Christians.

You have the knowledge of the atheists, so now get your facts straight about Christianity

Read the complete bible, not a heavily paraphrased or summarized version of it

    Then come back and talk.

Don't think you know everything about Christians my friend.

    Don't think we have proof.
Read the Bible. Has the "smart scientiest" been able to prove it wrong? NO they havn't. Some commit suicide because it is so much stress and can no suceed.

    You have to have faith.
God created the heavens and the earth. He Sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins on this sinful world. He did that for us. Why did he do that? To prove himself? No, so when we die we will have a gift to go to Heaven(if you pray and recieve christ as your Lord and Savior) and live eternal life instead of in ashes in Hell.

Would love to talk to anyone about christianity and God.

    Reasoned Arguements Against God

first of all i must say that when you say "can you prove the bible wrong" tells me two things, one... you have not read any of my passage and two you don't have a real question there. you can prove parts of the bible are wrong, but you cannot prove the bible wrong because that is like saying can you prove a mountain wrong,

look, read my passage and it says how you can prove some parts of the bible wrong, and yet know one has given me any positive proof for god, (rule 8!) and the bible is not proof because it is a secondary source, or even a fourth source, seeing as i know for a fact that it was wriiten by the [people who spoke to the friends of the disiples of jesus]

Also if god wants us to be happy and go to heaven, why would he need to make a hell in the first place? God is some kind of ego maniac to make it that you have to pray for him to be able to go to heaven, and if you don't you are miserable forever...

PS: if god is all powerful why can't he defeat the devil... (if the devil is all powerful too, wouldn't that make another paradox?)

    Something For All.

In both your threads you have failed to tell us how god did anything, create the heavens and the earth, just keep telling us that he did.

Scientists work to find more about the creation of the universe, not to disprove something that hasn't been proven (God). All these debates are the same. As soon as you get a question that can't really be answered, you just pull the faith card. It's an overused fail safe and is just annoying.

    Fucking Owned...

IMHO Religion is a psychological crutch to the insecure. People who NEED to know what happens after they die OFTEN turn to religion.

    Reasoned Arguements Against God

I've said this before and I will say it again. There is a thin line between "faith" and insanity. What do insane people tend to do? Well, some kill people because of they have a "purpose" or because they "aren't good enough" or other ridiculous reasons..Hmm, sound familiar? The crusades? Christians killing non believers... The Muslim war in India against the Hindus? Again, trying to convert and killing in the name of god? Hmmm.. Other people that are "insane" do things over and over and over and expect a different result... Hmm... Christians pray, go to church on sundays, and yet, their life stays the same.. But they do this for self satisfaction and they expect good to come out of it.. But everything stays the same. Now others talk to themselves, hear voices...Christians pray to "god" and talk to him, also in many cases, a LOT of Christians claim to have spoken to god , or "god spoke to me!" hmm... Yeah sounds crazy doesn't it? I understand that there are extremists in everything we do in life but once you hit the point where your life revolves around religion then you got a problem.

    Reasoned Arguements Against God

Which in no way helps a defence of a "god" but simply states that "god" could be any metaphysical being of all power. Pastafarianism has already adressed this issue of christianity, by claiming a flying sphegheti monster created the universe. Besides, it does not matter if it is a christian god or a hindu's god or just a metaphysical energy that is present in a universe, the fact remains that there is no proof of its existance and there is no possible way that a being or energy could possible retain that much power...

My comment was just a mere generalisation of the christian theists, note the words "a theist COULD say" and although i never said it was a christian theist i only assume you would think that due to the context, and the fact that i was talking about a christian theist in the begginning of my article...
