Depends on the situation, if snitching reduces further negative consequences then i deem it alright but if the intention is just to get the other person in trouble it's just a dick move

Honestly, it depends. I admit, I'm a selfish person, so I usually just concern myself with what's good/helpful/beneficial to me. So, if what's being snitched itself doesn't concern me, then I really don't give a fuck. It's obviously a different story if I'm the one being snitched, cause yea, i hate that (as does everyone).

Also, wanna say that I believe in being loyal to friends and everything but, again, I wouldn't needlessly put my future/life in jeopardy just to protect a friend for something he did on his own. For example, say you know your friend shot someone and then the police comes to interview you... do you lie, and take the risk of being charged with obstruction of justice/perjury or just snitch? tough decision.

Cause snitching would probably feel like betraying a friend, which in a sense it is, but imagine you going to jail for someone you didn't do, just cause you didn't want to be a rat?

Like everything in life. There are very few situations that are black and white.

As far as snitches goes, it completely depends on the situation. For the most part, I will always do whats best for the vast majority / what I believe to be the morally and logical best outcome and then act.

I've been put into situations where someone very close to me ended up going to jail for 15+ years. (Currently 2 years in), In that case, it's sad. And I did not snitch on him, neither he did to me.

For small things, I'd recommend them to quit doing what they are doing. Provide advice, ect. And if it comes down to it and If I think it's for the greater good, yes, I would "snitch".

There's a lot of gray area - if something is serious, then it is sometimes necessary to get another party involved to save the situation. There's many perspectives on what is right or wrong at a given time, you know?

If you're complicit in something (participating in whatever crime or indiscretion) then don't try and weasel your way out of your fuck-ups by rolling. Snitching is for bitches plain and simple and 9/10 it'll come back around, be it with the cops marking you as a pidgeon (they'll pull you over far more frequently in hopes of getting more dirt on you in exchange for info, once you start they have you.) or street justice from the ones you wronged or should you ever end up in jail and or prison for something you could'nt weasel your way out of.

Don't do it. Be a man and own your shit, that or keep your nose clean.

    You're a wormy little cunt.

There are so many different contexts where people can snitch though and therefor different perspectives and outcomes.

    NOT12RAT in organized crime though

I would say if actual wrongdoing is being committed then reporting it is the right thing to do. If however what is being reported isn't actually anything necessarily bad or harmful and is just to get that person into trouble then no I am not a fan that and the person snitching really needs to get out more.

Depends on the situation, if they do it out of jealousy then shame on them, if they're backstabbing you, then shame on them again.

Lot of dumb answers here snitching is like everyone says a very grey area. Snitching in my community more comes about if your co-worker or best friend is having suicidal thoughts and talking about it. You 'snitch' and tell someone so they can get help did you do wrong? No i don't think so. On the other hand if your best friend is selling drugs on the corner to support his fam and you snitch because you think it's wrong then yes maybe you're wrong.

Depends on the situation. If it's teens doing drugs and someone snitches. I think that's great. Or if they were stealing and someone told their parents. Great.

If it's someone obtaining movies "illegally" or speeding when no one is around and people call the cops with their license plate. Fuck those people

Depends on the situation for me. If you're not in the game and you are affected negatively by someones criminal actions, then by all means I think you should handle it as you see fit, whether it be involving the police or not. However, if you are selling drugs and you get caught, you shouldnt go and sell out your connections to get a lighter sentence.

It takes much bigger balls to speak out against wrong doings than to sit back and ignore the situation. Most cases it's not a matter of "snitching" as most people are never confronted about what they know reguarding some unknown event. But you "snitching" (reporting a crime) helps prevent further, potentially more grievous crimes. And to @Wasteman65 and some others, saying "fuck the police" usually comes from under-education of the purpose of law enforcement.
