Do you HONESTLY believe in God?

Not entirely, hes asking you to follow him instead of satan by being a good citizen and not do evil, he never told you to follow any religion. If your a good citizen and your doing what the majority would consider good without having any kind of religion, you will have a place in the heavens

 

I believe there is a god, a creator, but that he is not as powerful and good as religious people make him to be.

 

I don’t believe in god but I definitely believe in some higher entity above us

I understand what you are trying to say, like "God should step in always and stop the bad right away and punish the people instantly?" But think about it, none of us are perfect so imagine if everytime you did something wrong, even if no one saw you or you felt bad afterwards you get instantly punished to the max, how different would life be. Its almost like the word "sorry" or "forgiveness" wouldn't exist. Almost like we wouldn't have free will anymore. The fact that we can see what is "maliciousness" shows we know right from wrong. So everyone is free to make their own choice. Just because they might not have to answer for it right away, doesn't mean they wont have to answer for it one day

You can even see this with a simple example, there are laws on the roads if you cross a certain speedlimit you will face a consequence which is a ticket. If us humans can make a consequence for something like going over a speed limit even if it hurts no one or no accident is caused, don't you think there would be a consequence eventually for all those who cause "maliciousness" in the world?


At the end of the day we can all sit here and debate if God exists or not or say we believe or not, but when you are in a sticky situation, like I mean "REAL TROUBLE",
and you know there aint no way out and this is the end, I know for a fact that there is one thing that EVERYONE does. Regardless of what they believe is the truth, if they believe in God or athiest or the Cookie monster. They all raise their hands and start to beg the Almighty for a way out.

 

I'm agnostic by choice as I don't think someone acts above all, but I think someone may have at the beginning of time or possibly in the future ???. It's such a gray area, but I'm not willing to be atheist (I think atheism is personally very ignorant).

I have reasons to believe and reasons not to.

Others here have shown a similar view of mine that suggests a creator, or higher power, but not in a classic form of religion. I do feel that on occasion, religion is used to dismiss unfortunate occurrences as a destined event rather than being logical about it's occurrence.

It is simply a way of life that provides structure and faith that some may need.

 

Not to start an argument but could you explain why you view atheism as ignorant? Genuinely curious about that.

I don't believe in God... per se. I don't know what I believe in. It seems so weird that there was nothing then there was something. I don't get how we could have had nothing in the universe then just suddenly we have something. I believe that there was something that started the universe, whether it's God or just some random thing that happened.

The God I constantly see portrayed in Christianity and churches nowadays (speaking from experience) is one I refuse to believe is real. I believe something might be out there, but not one, singular God.

 

By your view, you answered my question. It seems strange that we went from nothing to something without some god figure... or at least some almighty being.

I'm glad you mentioned DMT because I could talk forever about the experiences I've had after smoking DMT multiple multiple times over the last 2 years and how they helped me view everything differently and motivated me to become the best version of myself every day. But I won't spend an hour talking about that unless someone actually wants to hear about it in depth. After some of these experiences I had I started looking for something.

For the last year I've searched for similar minded people that explain the world as I already see it. To help me put into words these indescribable experiences of the unspeakable world. I have no intention of ever adopting anybody else's doctrine and none of the lectures I listen to try to convert anyone to anything, it's just purely informative.

and
Ram Dass

Both of them are western men that traveled to the east, india/china/japan, and they often describe many things from the buddhist and hindu point of view for the western world. They both have lectured in multiple places through the 1900s and hundreds of hours of these lectures can be found on youtube for free.

I was raised in the western christian church forced to go every Sunday. Quickly seeing that faith in this god is more important than actions. Where the perfect saint of a person would never be allowed into their heaven unless he accepted jesus christ as his personal savior. and where the worst person that commited the worst unspeakable crimes against his fellow man would be welcomed into this heaven while accepting jesus christ into his heart on his death bed. It made no sense how thousands of years worth of humanity could be written off as going to hell just because this god hadnt yet been formed. While good morals are taught and somewhat enforced at the same time they really were not, adults telling children to act a way that the adults never did. Where the most holy men I found were the biggest hypocrites. It was laughable.

So for awhile i considered myself an athiest / agnostic, Idk what I consider myself these days. I'm just living life to the fullest in ways that make me happy, not really worried about how anyone else thinks I should live my life.
