Do you HONESTLY believe in God?

We have a question here, Do you HONESTLY believe in God?. As a matter of fact I do. Between my experiences with the supernatural (devils-also known as demons/miracles/testimonies) and my Faith, I can only assert one conclusion, Jesus is Lord and God. In case you are doubtful the Bible supports my claims that Jesus is not just the "Son of God" but also "God Himself" or "God in the flesh" Here are some excerpts from scripture (John 8:24 / John 1:1-3 / John 8:58 / John 10:30-33 ). I could go deeper into this topic as some have argued otherwise but those arguments have been proven folly many times

so I wont bother. Anyways in case you were wondering about my spiritual experiences I spent quite a bit of time scraping through some Satanic or Psionic websites and forums. I would rather not mention these for your benefit. I have done silly rituals and tried new age techniques, I even dabbled into other religions somewhat. Eventually I made a big mistake I did a ritual that made devils bother me an my family. At least 2 of my other family members were consistently seeing shadows and devils on a regular basis. I also saw a devil late at night. My stepdad and my brother were the other two. In fact my stepdad claims he was pushed when nobody was around. I myself was grabbed from under my sheets in bed with a locked door and empty room. If you think this is a joke its not and actually a lot of people have had similar experiences. Finally it got to the point where I had been in and out of minor mental facilities because I would do weird things and say weird things that I would rather not mention. After being committed several times and being released I started listening to a friend I met online, (Who I have met in person several times. Also to this day we are still in regular contact) He was a Christian. I started watching a few videos and reading the bible and I began to realize it all made perfect sense. These were certainly devils bothering me and my family. but not only were they bothering me. Later on I realized they were tempting me to do things the Bible said not to do very often. after a while I realized the devil wasn't the king of hell but a evil spirit God would punish when Revelations (The final prophetic book of the bible) comes about. But that's not it he has been given some authority from God over this world as God allows to do certain things not only that affect us negatively but in full accomplish Gods plan of healing and redemption. From any real Christian point of view the devil is very evil, Devils are never nice or friendly unless its fake to accomplish a purpose. They are not your friend or spirit guide either. Sadly in my experience many people have claimed they are. Devils want you to suffer in the lake or fire and deny God and his salvation and this is because they hate God and your his creation and they cannot touch him. Fortunately salvation is easy. according to scripture if you choose to read it all you have to do is Believe in Jesus Christ as God (the I AM) and believe he died on the cross and rose 3 days later suffering sufficient enough to pay for the suffering you would of had to endure for sinning against God. I'm not the only one with a testimony there are many others out there who if you would just ask them would say they have amazing stories as well. I am a Biblical Christian which means I follow the word of God or the Bible which in the Greek and Hebrew has been perfectly preserved by God. I do not follow Catholicism, Jehovah's Witness, Mormonism or any other man made cults that push people away from the truth of Jesus Christ.
    John 14:6 / Acts 4:12
There is no other way to be saved besides Faith in Jesus Christ. many people love to claim Good works, obeying God, or Faith and works will grant you salvation. That's simply not true when you read the bible as a whole. Ephesians 2:8-9 /
John 14:6 / Acts 4:12 / Salvation is a free gift If we could save ourselves by works it would not be through Jesus only as a free gift. If works could save us you deny what was done on the Cross. You say it was not enough, which in turn you are denying the Deity of Jesus Christ.

In case your wondering why I don't believe religions like Islam since they also include devils here's why, I tried to dabble into Islam and God pushed me back to Christ several times. Those devils I mentioned always try to put doubt in my head about Christ and I know because I have Gods Holy Spirit living within me like any other Christian Jesus is God Just like Jesus said to Peter, not man but The Father in Heaven has revealed this to you.
    Matthew 16:13-20

I ask you to please do your research and come to Love the Truth.

Oh wow, I'm not sure why I never replied to this. Sorry!

Personally, I agree with you. Human brains have a tendency err on the side of caution when it comes to pattern recognition. That's why we see animals/faces/whatever in clouds. I believe that our ancestors saw patterns where there were none regarding hunting, farming, etc., and thought that something unseen was making these "patterns".

That's correct, but that's because the Romans based their religion on the Greeks after conquering them.

Islam was heavily influenced by Christianity and Judaism

What about religions developed on separate continents?

I agree that the Bible supports your claims.

I don't really have time to watch a 3+ hour video, but if you can tell us some of the arguments used, I'd be happy to discuss them.

Regarding your supernatural experiences, I have to say I'm skeptical. People all around the world claim to have experienced the supernatural, whether it's levitating monks, possession, telekinesis, prophecy, etc., but there's never been any hard evidence documenting any of these. I don't mean to be insulting, but certain mental illnesses can produce extremely vivid hallucinations - how have you been able to rule that out?

Well for one considering my stepdad has a high IQ and no reported mental illness diagnosis from childhood to 50 I would say hes not hallucinating also no regular use of alcohol drugs etc and hes seen this multiple times in the past, I understand the hallucination ideas but to be honest far too many non mentally ill adults have reputably claimed a life change from major drug dealers and homosexuals like Christopher Yuan and even Murders Etc. also I would just like to mention that the bible is historically consistent in its discovered writings in fact its more historically preserved and has more available writings than even famous historical writings such as homer. Even many top "Athiests scholars" will agree Jesus existed they just deny his Deity, Power / Godship and say hes a normal human or scam artist of a religious movement. There are many testimonies of things that left to chace just don't add up regardless of other stories also I actually didnt have so called hallucinations in fact when I was into satanism at times I would think of a person or object and just a bit later see it. Obviously satan isn't out to prove to the masses he or any "God" exists which is why typically only "believers" of religions cults or such see or expereince these things as they believe already and it dosent necessarily change anything, but satan can further manipulate them into wrong doctrines and decieve them even more if they are muslims, satanists, new agers Etc, Already. I apologize fot my grammar and spelling as I don't think its abosulely necessary for this and my posts on this forum.

I.Q. has nothing to do with hallucinations, and there are plenty of undiagnosed mentally ill people. Also, I don't know anything about your stepdad. For all I know he could be lying.

People have huge life changes all the time. When I stopped believing in God, that was a huge life change for me.

While the Bible is accurate with respect to certain historical details, it's not in others. For example, Moses is largely considered to be a myth, and there's no archaeological evidence for the flight of the Jews from Egypt.

I agree that Jesus existed, but the Gospels were written by second-hand authors, that is, people who had never met him or witnessed his miracles. They were also written 40+ years after his death. If I wrote a book that said that my grandfather knew a guy who worked miracles, would you believe it?

    Like what?

How do you know you weren't hallucinating when you saw demons? Also out of curiosity, why do you say "so called" hallucinations?

Also, thinking of something and then seeing it soon after is an extremely common cognitive bias. Don't forget about all the people/things you thought about and didn't see.

    What's the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon?

    That makes sense.

No worries at all, thank you for taking the time to respond! :)

I do hope you will come to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and though I see you are quite the skeptic I will be praying for you. unfourtunately God did not intend for us to prove his existence beyond a resonable doubt. In fact he says that because of his wonderous creation whoever does not believe is a fool, I am not supposed to call you a fool I'm just letting you know what God has to say. I don't think there is much more I can say but if you really want to do the research I would recommend it and or reading your bible as I hear alot people who try hard enough to disprove the bible often end up believing in instead. Sadly the people who say the bible is contraditiary or disproven are people with little understanding as to what the scriptures actually say as a whole. I would hope you are atleast open minded to God being real as I have looked through many religions beliefs and viewpoints of the universe, none of which have impressed me especially non-spiritual ones, besides Jesus Christ and His Word. I say this all in love reproof and correction For the Faith and Truth and for Jesus Christ who is the Way the Truth and the Life

I appreciate your prayers for me. :)

I have been reading the Bible, it's a very good read whether you're religious or not. I try to be open-minded, so I'm 100% open to the possibility of God existing.

If you have any other recommendations, or if you ever want to discuss the subject further, PM me any time!

Honestly? No, but agnostically, I try to. To be quite honest I envy both those who can be entirely theist and atheist, simply to put their feet on one side of the fence. However, I can't get over the burden of proof issue whichever way I look at it.

I was raised Christian and I'm sure that has significant influence over me being theistically agnostic rather than atheistically at least, which also prohibits me from being entirely impartial; however the thought of being entirely alone scares me more than anything else.

So, no, but I try to.

Agnostic means "I don't know if God exists or not". Theist means "I believe that a God exists". Atheist means "I don't believe in God". You can be an agnostic atheist, or an agnostic theist, but you can't be both an atheist and a theist.

That scares me too. I don't want to die, I don't want my existence to end, but...reality doesn't care what we want. My feelings don't influence the universe.

Sorry, I was tired as hell when I wrote that, rereading it shows that I was all over the place. I meant that I believe I have a natural predisposition to be agnostic, however that the decision to be a theist likely had much influence from the fact that I was raised Christian and I can't really conceive of the world in a different mindset. I'm far from still believing in the Christian god like I once did, however I do believe that there is some kind of higher power at play, one which we won't be able to understand any time soon.

My fear doesn't stem from lack of an afterlife, but rather "knowing" that we are the most intelligent beings in existence, because if we're the best thing the universe has to offer, I don't really enjoy this timeline of events.

yes of course . Even if one single chromosone survived this so called accident at the birth of the universe the chances of it surviving a second , is mathematically impossible .

Again, really obvious/bad troll, but just in case anybody is taking you seriously:

    - There were no chromosomes at the "birth" of the universe.
    - What's the "so called accident"?
    - What's the second accident, and why do you think it's mathematically impossible?
