Do you HONESTLY believe in God?

I'm not here to debate, just to tell what I think, or at least what I've learned.
Yes, I do believe in God (Allah, in my religion, Islam). Because I believe that everything has to be created by a superior power, a creator. Not going to discuss "Then who created God?" or something like that, because my religion taught me that the God is not born or created by something else, He is the most superior power of the entire universe, so I can't really give a specific answer.
Yeah, I grew up as a Muslim, hence my family taught me all this. While I'm still grateful that I grew up as a Muslim, I'm also sure that if I'd born into a Christian, Atheist, Buddhist family, I'd embrace their ideology.
My faith is less than it was when I was a child, but still, I believe in God.

I believe nobody really knows and theoretically the idea of God is as wild as the idea of aliens. Not saying neither of them exist or dont, but science is a real thing, and the belief in science pretty much negates the belief in god.

No that's not really a solid concrete answer. There may be proof we may not have found it yet. Times change who knows what evidence could be found.

No, god hasn't come to me or had any effect in my life to were i would believe there was a god, how can you sit there an read a book that has been edited through generations, the fact of the matter is the bible was wrote by man, how can another man determine the way you live your life.
All the people claiming to have had miracles just use that to cover up something they didn't want to expose like a person with a bad back, magically feels better after words are spoken upon them may have been claiming welfare or some type of benefit. The fact of the matter is there is no proof that validates existence of god nor what people claim to have seen or done, its a story that went viral if I'm truly honest with you, and the fact that so many people are manipulated by it just makes me think this is why most of the fucked up shit is happening in the world as we speak.

There's literally no harm in believing in God. It doesn't hurt you to believe in God, and if anything would be beneficiary so long as you're not an extremist in the matter. That being said, I personally believe in God. You cannot simply try and argue that the existential universe and life itself is one great chaotic happening/miracle. Please.

Do you HONESTLY believe in God?

My answer its complicated....Early on as a child I believed in a god like most out of fear of burning in hell LMAO as i got older into my teens I was basicly a atheist, I went strictly by science and recorded history but the more I researched and got into these things the more science kinda showed me there was a god/gods the human brain its so complex....more advanced that any computers we have really but we are getting close to matching it.

They are more stars than they are grains of sand in all the worlds beaches, and they are more atoms in one grain of sand than they are stars....it really opens your eyes on how even the most simplisitc things are incredibly complex.

I'm fairly sure there is other intellegent life out there, A infinite amount if you really think about it.
So one could say it wouldnt be too far fetched to assume Some form of Ultra Intellegent life made us. Completely possible. Now Im not saying I believe in a "Christian like God" at all , I don't beleive we are the lambs of god lol but more like a Sceince experiment or a Ant Farm maybe? Who knows.

I think my experience and most peoples experiences have a lot in common its just the cycle of life and turning into adulthood. As children we are full of wonder and curiosity and are also very gullable/ impressionable if we are exposed to a religious belief we will more than likely believe it, As we become teens/ Young adults we start to question everything not only if there is a god but we question our Social, Economical, political systems we even question athourity and a majority of us rebel against those things during this phase, But as we mature and science claims the human brain matures from around 24-26 years of age we start to fabricate our own beliefs a sort of combination of our previous two phases in life, We take all our knowledge from childhood to adulthood and convert it into wisdom...then thats really when we can form a real belief or chose not too.

So what im trying to say is, Whatever your opinon on the subject is, its more than likely to change as you grow and develop, live and learn. Wether it be going from believing to not believing or vice versa. I know we all arent the same, but I do believe this to be true. Its kind of like...the closer we get to death, more is revealed about the origin of life itself.

Haven't read all the above posts but yes I do believe in God. I don't really care much about it's history and realism though. I've had quite a tough time in the past and therefore believing in someone above there looking down at me, believing in me, helped me out during the rough times.

Do you HONESTLY believe in God?

No i don't believe in anything. Was born into a very atheist family and have never stepped foot into a church for anything including funerals and weddings. My family makes a point of making those things extremely non religious. I've never been taught a single thing about religion other then like things learned from the Simpsons and stuff. Also went to a public school where teaching anything remotely religious was against the rules. Because of this it just seems like a giant fairy tale story to me sorry.

I believe in something. I can't say I believe in praying and devoting you're entire life to something you cant see.. then again it all could just be something humans came up with to relieve stress. Hence "praying"

A common argument (imo) brought up by religious people is "proof that God doesnt exist". Lack of proof does not make something valid, even when its "maybe we will someday find something", it is still currently invalid untill proven otherwise.

Having said that it's pretty clear that I do not believe in a god. Cant remember who, but someone said that every argument to believe in "a god" could also be made about a cat made out of uranium that shoots lasers out of its eyes and poops gold and made everything in the universe, in which I may believe.

The only fair argument from a religious point is that religion is believing. Which means that it does not have to be based on facts, as each person can have their own interpretation of what that believe is.

If you can read the New Testament—really, really read it—you can find some form of inspiration which, to some, characterizes a connection to God. But seriously, reading the actual Vulgate is so much better than any English version and reveals hidden facets of the text and Christianity that you would never have otherwise been aware of. Can't wait to learn enough Ancient Greek to get even closer to the original literary source material. Though, I guess the Septuagint is considered as close as an average educated scholar needs.

I used to follow Christianity and now I feel as though I can't fully say that I believe in it. To me, the idea of it actually existing is such a pleasantry that it's easier to say I believe. Thinking about the alternative is so hard to fathom, I guess I don't really give much thought on it. When I really think about it, I struggle to hold faith as much as I want to.

The Gospels of John, Luke, and Mark—I was never really a fan of Matthew when I considered it to be so similar to Mark. Plus, Mark's ending was just absolutely thought provoking in a way no other Gospel was. On top of that, Acts has a lot of great stuff, especially if you're interested in the function of Jewish institutions in pre-Revolt Judaea. I haven't analyzed fully any of the Pauline Epistles, but it's absolutely necessary to understand Pauline Christianity if you want to understand modern proselytizing Christianity. After that, it's a lot more of wash. I focus more of my studies on the evolution of Christian theology, divergence from early Judaism, Christianity in Rome, etc, so I guess it makes sense that I would care more about Paul and the Gospels.

While I have gone to church for many years, done church school etc.. nothing actually makes me believe in a superior figure, because I am not that superstitious, and there is no HARD evidence that there was christ, etc
