Do you find it at all suprising so many people get scammed here?

People are stupid.

 

I do think too many people get scammed, however there isn't much to do besides IP banning.

 

It's insane how many times I've been scammed in the last month. No wonder so many people don't trust me hell I wouldn't with the ammount of people on here who do it. Kinda sad to be honest.

 

People are idiots. Always request a PM to get rid of impostors, and always use a MM if you feel you cannot trust the other user.

I really don't find it too suprising - and thats something coming from a "newcomer." But when you think about it that's nothing more than a postcount ranking and the ones getting scammed are simply not thoughtful at all. They want something so bad that they dive into whatever bull that catches their eye. Hahaha now that I think about it saying that might lose me some credit (you know ~ pathos and all that junk). Despite being a newcomer i recently made a firecape service thread expecting alot of people to lose theirs attempting the new update. You could argue that anyone who trusts me before I get vouches and that frustrating POST COUNT is the same type of impulse acting person I was speaking about. But think of it like this - if those types of people didn't exist could we tell whos good from whos bad? Would anyone even trust another person and exactly HOW did the people who currently have alot of vouches get their first couple?

Though your topic asks "do you find it surprising" you begin talking by saying you don't feel sympathy for them - so allow me to answer your implied question: No I don't feel sympathy for them. It's not something I would do or ask others to do but someone has to do it - in that sense I thank them. But that goes for the smarter ones...I feel nothing for those who take no screenshots and ignore all warnings then cry scam. As harsh as it is there should be a limit to stupidity.

There's a market on here, and as long as it stays active, scammers will try anything to scam. Why do you think people ban evade so much? Sythe is a very well known site.

 

Maybe you should have a trusted area. for trusted gold sellers. Other gold sellers that are selling can be in a non-trusted area and if you choose to buy from the non trusted and get scammed its your own fault. But if you can show proof that you got scammed by a non trusted seller than action should be taken.

 

I am new.. and yes we have a bad reputation. People make accounts and intend to be legit, but the second they have a chance they will scam. Don't go first unless they have a good reason not to scam (50+ donated with 1000+ post count)

The reason why so many people get scammed and seem "stupid" is simply because they are young. Young people are stupid and there's no getting around it unfortunately

 

Not at all surprising. People just don't know who to trust and how to trade. I also agree many of the people being scammed are young.

 

When people first come to this website, alot of them have no knowledge of how not to be scammed. Like when I first joined, I got scammed by the imposter scam, and I just had to learn from my mistakes.

 

I've learned over the years from personal experience, that if it's to good to be true it most likely is. So many scammers out there.

 

The thing I hate is that when you come onto forums like these and have a low amount of posts everyone suspects you of being a scammer or something.

 

No, not at all, with the growth of these forums, they gain inexperienced users, who in their turn don't know how to trade safely. Not that i am an expert at trading, but the fact that people are ready to go first just because the guy is selling the cheapest gold is quite funny.

But how would you expect someone who is absolutely new to the market scene to know and do all that?

When I was new here, I managed to sell 8 upgrades ( I went first or 50/50) before I knew common trading practices like requesting a pm, and using a MM. Somehow, I never scammed. To this day, I was never scammed.
