Reincarnation

Well, I have started up a discussion with a few people, and everyone I know has had things to share about what they believe, but this is my story.

All of this was posted entirely by me in a discussion between a few people which is still active.

I personally don't believe in the concept of reincarnation. It sounds to implausible to think that your consciousness exists past your life. Though many people do believe in it my opinion is that is doesn't exist.

 

Well, I do believe in a lot of things. Every man/woman is entitled to their own opinion and shouldn't be crucified for it, So if anyone has anything to flame against - Take it somewhere else.

That's just a warning, I don't want to create a "Holy war" with people, these are just my own beliefs and I know other people do share in the same thing.

Just been hung up on Chuck Norris jokes lately. lol.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm devoutly ATHEIST. I don't believe in anything. I'm also quite adverse to flaming so expect only pleasant conversation from me.

Either way. What is your stand point, in more of a condensed version, your first post was TL;DR

 

Well there is no real way to shorten it, but I can give it a shot.

Reincarnation is my strong belief; It allows you to document ALL of life's hardships and easycomings into a book, and when you've finally acquired all the knowledge (Which can't actually happen) You're done. So in theory your "book" actually has a series in a Library that holds your books and publish's them for people who aren't able to be released into a new soul yet, so that they may learn.

 

Reincarnation, has a few meanings.

I mean the definition is of course, a person or animal, whos soul is believed to be reborn.

But there's otherways to look at it. Scientifically, when a animal dies it becomes part of the earth , feeds the plants, plants feed the animals. So it's soul is continually being reborn into other parts of nature..

But to say that, you'd have to (insert your definition) of soul.

Lots of different ways to think about reincarnation.

 

Seems to sci-fi spiritual for me.

Reincarnation is actually interpreted in hundreds of different ways by people, Everyone's opinion about it is different. Some can seem realistic while others seem VERY Sci-fi'ness

your story was 2 long 2 read so i didnt read it. but everybody knows we go to heaven when we die... duh!

As a pantheist, I suppose I do support the idea of reincarnation but not in the same sense as you. My beliefs are that when you die, all consciousness ceases (in line with all scientific data showing no proof of any form of soul or what have you) and your body will slowly decay until the atoms that you're made up of are eventually thrown back into space (nature recycles ) and eventually will form many different celestial bodies.

I just explained that very badly, but I don't expect that you will come to appreciate it anyway, so there's no point really.

 

Well, actually I do appreciate how you can voice your opinion and your beliefs, as I said before I'm not here to criticize or judge people on the way they view life, we all have different ways of seeing things.

I've only brought up the subject to see what other people think and so that I could get a basic idea of how the community can be all united instead of intolerant.

But I'm not here to bash, so I like the way you've interpreted it !

 

How are these atoms "thrown" back into space, after you're decayed?

 

It's not something that happens in a matter of a few years. In our case here on Earth, what is left of our bodies that doesn't radiate back into space as we decay will be vaporized by our Sun expanding as it is about to condense into a white dwarf and die. In other cases, it might be a supernova. My viewpoint isn't limited to our Earth.
