do you admit playing runescape?

So I am 23 years old, now being told that. It is hard for me to uhm admit to playing such a video game... being associated with the cyber community..

So non of my friends even know i have this side of me, i keep it isolated and never speak of any video games. I can imagine it in my head they will just judge me for what i do in my own spare time rather than who i really am. My main question to people is, Do you tell everyone, anyone, or know one about this MMORPG life you have.. whatever your answer is.. just give a description about your feelings, if you care or don't care what they think. . a lot would help me out..

 

Yeah, it's just a game. I play RS now and again, along with WoW. If someone's going to laugh at me playing that, I'm only going to ignore it.

 

I'm not really open about it to be honest. Although I don't really play for extended periods of time, maybe 5 minutes setting up a bot.

 

If people ask me if I play Runescape, I tell them that I am botting and make my money of it.

 

If people ask me what I like to do in my free time, I tell them. It's just a game, who gives a shit? It's actually not as awkward to mention as people seem to think...

 

Idk i just feel like life is all based on who you impress.. my current gf don't even know i bot or play the game.. i just feel like they judge you for playing a game.. i mean xbox is different so i've been told.. but RS my ex HATED it..

 

Life is sort of based on who you impress, yeah I guess... but if you just live to impress others, you'll never end up being completely happy with yourself. And hey, if they think the worst thing about you is a game that you enjoy, consider yourself lucky. (;

 

I don't exactly bring it up but if the discussion turns to the game I don't have a problem saying that I have played it. Anyone who looks down on you for playing a videogame is an idiot.

 

I see nothing wrong with admitting that. It's just a game and I doubt anyone would judge you for playing it.

 

^ This. I don't go around broadcasting it on the news, but if someone happens to notice me playing and asks what it is/asks me if I play, I have no problem telling them what it is/that I play. There's no reason to be ashamed of a hobby.

I have plenty of friends/family members who have hobbies that I particularly dislike/hate with a passion, but that does not mean that I'm going to hate them for it; If they like it, they like it.

If you feel like the person you're with will belittle you over something as petty as playing video games, then you're definitely with the wrong person. Like has been said before, it's going to be really hard to feel good about yourself if you feel like you have to live up to everyone elses' standards.

 

Dont really talk much about it since i dont really play as much as i used to but if my gf finds out two things would happen.

1) Get kicked in the balls
2) Get dumped over the phone

 

You really need to think about who you go out with then. If I was your gf, I'd probably just play with you from time to time, if I was in the mood/liked the game. My only concern would be if you literally played them 24/7, but that's something else.

If you're going to get kicked below the belt for something like that, then your gf is the one with severe issues, not you. If she'd break up with you over that, then so be it.

 

I Don't bring the topic up without being asked ( unless im with my friends that play ) Although if someone does ask, then I'm not ashamed to say I play when I am bored

 

I don't need to admit playing Runescape, because i don't.

But when i used to, it depends who was asking, girls of course i would be like nah used to ages ago, if a guy asks it was like yeah a bit you? lol

 

Yeah, I don't give a shit honestly, it's a video game like any other video game.

 

When I was younger a bunch of my friends/acquaintances played. Over the years, everyone's quit except me and one dude that I don't really know and I never talk to. I don't really bring Runescape up in conversation because, to my knowledge, no one I hang out with plays. Why would they care? If people ask me what games I play I tell them, but I don't go running to my buddies every time I level up or get a nice drop. The exception is my girlfriend, but I live with her. She doesn't play, but sometimes she likes to watch me fight bosses and shit.

 

I very happily let anyone know that I play runescape. Back when I was in school everyone thought it was awesome that I paid for my car solely off of money I made from runescape so they thought it was cool. Even aside from the money no one cares at all that anyone plays it. One of the most popular people openly talks about runescape and no one thinks anything of it.

If you're too ashamed to admit that you play A FUCKING GAME, you shouldn't play it.


Plus, if I didn't very openly talk about runescape I would have never found out that I went to school with one of the top 5 best runescape players in the world.

 

It's something done in your free time. You could easily retaliate your opinion to one of their hobbies if they judge you. Runescape is to pass time, and isn't all that fun in the first place. Many people play for the real world trading aspect of it, only because they know that they can make money off of such an easy game.

 

Of course. Don't like it? Don't care.

 

well some girls have standards and well idk how mine would react if she knew i played such a silly game.. i used to spend countless hours on it but now i maybe do and hour a day, i just mostly bot but idk if i could handle her reaction heh
