So My Apartment Flooded

Basicly me and my one roommate went to the gas station and we get back and hear water sound in the living room. It was wierd we realized there was water flooding from our "radiator" floorboard heaters. Now I instantly called the office to get somone here ASAP. 15 min go by and no one shows up so we call again and they're like well we sent a guy. Well he comes in looks and goes holy fuck, and leaves. All they do is called a plumber as our living room flooded.

Now when they get the plumber in after an hour he said our pipe busted, and said it was cus our patio door was cracked. Which is BS because I highly doubt the pipe would break if the water coming out was 150+ degrees, and it was 20 degrees outside but the living room was still around 70 degrees.

Then they replace the pipe and leave just a shop vac and tell us to clean up the water, even though it went through the floor and wrecked the cieling below us they think leaving the carpet is fine? I don't get this, and we haven't really done too much but do we have a right to tell them to clean it up and replace the carpet?

I was dougie'ing when the plumber was here. It was a shitty feeling watching as water flooded in your living room, good thing we got the 50" and laptop and xbox 360 outta there.

It's called an insurance company and Water Damage policy.

 

Well we don't have insurance on our apt, but we got a lawyer who will take care of it because they're like here clean it up yourself. When I'm pretty sure it's their duty as the complex owner to take care of problems, if a pipe bursts they fix it and clean up the mess of the carpet.

EXACT same thing happened to me and my dad man about 4-5 months ago. It really sucks only thing different was that we were on the bottom floor.

Yea, we got a lawyer in line for if they don't fix the carpet because we did nothing wrong and had to wait an hr for them to get a plumber.
