do I need higher res or a bigger screen

Hi, I'm in the market for a new laptop. I have a 13" right now and just need more desktop space. It's rough having more than one thing open at a time right now on my 13" 1366x768.

Just wondering if I should be looking at a bigger screen (15.6") or better resolution (1920x1080), or both. Which one gives more desktop space?

A higher resolution would give you more space.
If you have a 13 inch 1280 x 800 monitor and a 21 inch, they'd both fit the same amount of icons, but the larger monitor would make the icons look bigger.

As Under Dizzle said above, bigger screens makes the icons look bigger. Bigger resolution makes the icons/uis smaller allowing you to have extra space.
As long as you're find using a high resolution(Might be too small) then you're good to go with it.

yes precisely, kind of echoing but for example people don't like really using 4k with 100% zoom at 28" because the writing etc is so small. 13 or 15 inches with 1080p however I imagine will be quite small, as I have a 15.6 screen or whatever on my laptop and the res is 1366 x 768 and so a bit smaller than 1080p, but yes it would save desk space.
