How to hide java icon in system tray

I was being annoyed by having the java icon in my system tray,
So recently I spent about 30 mins figuring out how to disable it.

The normal method via control panel does not work on W7 / W8 / Vista.

How to hide it forever:

Go to start and type in > Javacpl
Or you can find it in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin

Right click it and choose Run as Administrator
[Opening it without admin rights won't save changes]





Go to tab Advanced > Miscellaneous
Uncheck the box Place Java Icon in System Tray.





The java icon should be disabled in your system tray forever now.

 

Quick and simple guide. Although its not a hassle its better for it to be gone. Good guide.
