[DENIED][DISCORD] Bond Holders

This suggestion is pretty straightforward.

At the moment, there have been many people coming into the Discord now and again asking how to donate. It seems that a lot of the newer people in the Discord cannot make a donation directly to the site (since they don't meet the requirements) and therefore have to go through a bond holder to make their donation.

I propose one of two possible solutions in which I have that could potentially assist new users with making a donation:

1) Allow ALL users in Sythe Discord to be able to @ Bond Holders. This would mean that users who are new and wish to make a donation to simply be able to tag all Bond Holders and then a Bond Holder would simply be able to DM that individual user to process their donation.

2) Create a BRAND NEW channel dedicated for Bond Holders. In this channel, it would give a list of bond holders. New members would be able to simply find the bond holder in which they wish to donate with and then send them a friend request or message them directly in order to have their donation processed.

This would have a positive impact for newer members and people who are unfamiliar with donating as they would simply be able to find bond holders (or individuals who handle donations) quickly and easily. Not only this, but bond holding won't just be limited to only the site (as there'd be a section for them on Discord as well) and it would increase the business for bond holders as they would not just be getting business through the site but also directly via the Discord themselves.

You could also allow only the people with the Bond Holder role to talk in that channel and have them directly link their thread inside the Discord so people are more familiar with the bond holders themselves (as opposed to having only one person linking all the threads).

 

I don’t think this is a pressing issue, but it couldn’t hurt. I’d be in support of option 2. I like both ideas, but I think having the @ in general chat or wherever opens that person up to a potential scam from an impostor. It’s not necessarily likely, but I still think option 2 is safer while serving the same purpose.

 

Option 1: No support. I can see this @ function being abused.
Option 2: Support! If anybody asks how to donate simply refer them to #newbondholdingchannel in discord

The first one link you posted, when I try and view the thread inside that, it doesn't give me the permissions to read it.

What I'm suggesting here is a either an @ mention where you can tag Bond Holders OR, A CHANNEL where bond holder threads are linked so people can simply post their threads and new users can simply click on their threads and have a bond holder process their donations, not a user group or any kind of colour.

Edit: It should also be mentioned that it was claimed to be in the FAQ section. The problem here is, there's so much content in the FAQ section that you have to scroll up to the top and the Bond Holders displayed in User Centre probably isn't even accurate. From what I can tell, there is already a bond holder who has most likely resigned from bond holding (as their donation thread isn't pinned, they're not displaying their Bond Holder funrank and they're not actively advertising that they're taking donations).

Bond holders already get a role in the discord, however, you cannot @ them at this time. This is why I have separated it into two options, so either you can @BondHolder role in the discord or the second option is that you click their thread in the bond holder channel (if one is made).

 

We will deny this suggestion as we don't see the need for it. In addition, we want our verified users (outside of the Dev teams/$500/$1000 donors) to have the same colour on discord, therefore I have removed the "pumpkin" role.
