Disallow selling of accounts you do not own/have no information on

I'd be in favor in only being allowed to sell accounts you've actually purchased. This way a seller is less likely to sell an account they don't seem safe themselves. However, it might be rather difficult to proof.

It's overall a bit of a tricky situation as there's room for abuse. A seller could re-sell accounts from their 'friends' and then not care if it's recovered after the warranty period. You could argue that we could TWC/DNT these people if it happens too often (a number that can be defined) but it's also fairly difficult to proof if an account actually got recovered or not.

 

the term "account you don't own" is very lose arrangement and could be conceived as account your not original of as in theory your never owner of an account if you have purchased it from another party. but in this bases I think it safe to assume we are only considering account which you have not purchased or have made. but regardless

this pretty much sums up how I feel about this suggestion, but I do feel like we should have sort of length of time you have to be owner of the account or larger warranty period attached to these accounts.

 

Situations like the one being described are difficult to police as those with bad intentions can simply lie about their relationship to the account(s) they are selling.

Staff still reserve the right to overrule ToS in cases where it is being abused.
