I KNOW ITS HARD FOR MANY OF YOU IN THIS FORUM TO ACTUALLY READ AND THINK, BUT WHO KNOWS YOU MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING!



Introduction:
Since the United States transitioned from the Gold standard in 1933 with the implication of the Gold Reserve act in which president Roosevelt swtiched to paperback currency instead of the Gold Standard to fight inflation in a crippled economy. In this Act to transition between the two types of currencies the Government BANNED private ownership of large quantities of gold, needless to say everyone gave there gold to the U.S Government who built the worlds most secure housing for all this gold.

The place?

FORT KNOX, at one point it housed about 69% of ALL the Gold in the world, (Approximate value: $8,000,000,000,000 [trillion])



Thats great well heres what we debate.

The gold in Fort Knox has not been Audited since the Ronald Regan era, since then no body has been able to see inside it.


1) Is this a government cover up?
2) Why hasen't there been an Audit on the Gold in fort knox? After all it is your gold, your parents gold, and your parents parents gold. Shouldn't you be allowed to know if it is really there?
3) How will this affect the Economy and the dollar if there is no gold?
4) If there is no gold where did it go? What did it go too? Were you literally robbed of your gold?

I think if the gold were still there we would have used it to pay of at least part of our extreme debts. My guess on where it has gone is purely speculation, but I believe we were in debt worse than the national public realized, so we paid off another nation with the gold from Fort Knox.

Then again, it could still be there, safe and sound, and the government just has bigger fish to fry at the moment. Think of it like running a private server, but on a GIANT scale, there is no way to tell everyone everything whether you are necessarily covering it up or not.

 

You seem to be under the misapprehension that the gold in Fort Knox is privately owned by the American people, rather than owned by the government. Your figures also seem to be off, as Wikipedia reports that the gold currently held in Fort Knox is only worth about $280 billion. Given that we aren't on the gold standard, what possible reason could the government have for lying about the amount of gold that's held there?

 

Yes there still is gold there seen an episode on history channel about it..

 

If you find a goldmine, would you share that fact with everybody else?

 

From what I've read from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Knox), I'm guessing there's not much there besides some military equipment and training grounds.

Although I do not know the full story about any previous gold being held there, therefore I cannot declare whether or not there is a conspiracy happening.

The real issue here, is Does gold Really Matter? because IMHO, I think that gold is completely worthless.

 

It's is inherently worthless however it has perceived value. As the economy collapses gold prices usually spike like they have done recently. The US dollar is worthless.

 

True, but the idea that the gold could be there is worth alot more than the fact that gold may actually be there. There is not reason to audit the vault and risk ruining the economy even more.

 

You didn't state you own opinion?
The fed is currently in the process of forcing the board members in control of the Treasury to show their books, and answer to a government issued audit. The issue is not IF there's gold in fort nox, but rather how much.
Also, your facts are completely inaccurate. Multiple people have been inside, and seen the gold located in fort nox since the 1980's.
My advice: stay away from conspiracy theories BRUH, cuz youre no good at it.
