Hitler and Stalin

Wondering what everyone thinks of this?

Hitler

-Started a fascist movement and called them Nazi's
-Murdered millions of Jews*
-Took the Germans to WWII and blamed it on the Jews, homosexuals, etc.
so on and so forth

Stalin (man of steel)

-Communist leader
-Killed millions who perceived his opinions, policies and beliefs
-Established USSR which repelled Hitler's army
so on and so forth

* Although killing the Jews was not humanitarian, or rational [to some], Jews have had a history of being banished throughout history.

I just wanted to know peoples thoughts on these two ideological opponents. Which was worse? Why?

I'm doing a research paper on my free time and possibly publishing a book and wanted to know your thoughts.

 

Oddly enough, I just did a Research Paper in my History class, and a person next to me did this as a topic. She thought they were very equal (obviously I didn't do the paper, so I can't go too far into it).

 

If I had to pick who was worse I suppose it would be Stalin, simply because he killed more people and spread communism pretty far.
I wouldn't say that Hitler saved Germany either...

 

He convinced the Germans that he was. After getting fucked in WW1 the people were desperate. Hitler took advantage of this, and took over. He promoted German Nationalism.

As for Communism verses Fascism... you should make the point that they're the same thing, even though they're supposed to be polar opposites. Refer to the sticky that Sythe made about Collectivism and Individualism. Both Communism and Fascism are forms of Collectivism.

 

This is what I'm looking for. I'm definitely not right on everything, which is why I ask for your opinions and why you think what you think.

I just want to know your opinions on these two people. For example "Hitler was a terrible person, all he did was bad for Germany because...".

If you generalize them, then yeah they are; but if you specifically approach each of their beliefs it's not.

 

Extreme right wing and extreme left wing are both the same.
They both have fascist ideas and government interference is very big.

But to answer the question which one of those two did the biggest harm to the world, I would say Stalin. He send millions of people to war and let millions of others starve.

 

If you're asking who was a more effective leader, I would have to say Hitler was. He brought Germany out of a depression and could have taken over all of Europe if he didn't spread his troops so thin and get a little anxious about it.

 

Hitler's probably worse as his tyrancy effected more people.

 

Sure seems rather relevant to today's events, don't you think? Obama convinced America that he was the savior for America. After getting fucked by Bush/Cheney's warmongering policies, the people were desperate for a nwe leader. Obama took advantage of this, and despite having no obvious intent to 'save' America, was swiftly elected. He's now the chosen puppet to push forward the elite's agenda.
