Lol definitely not scamming really, they mustve sold it for that price to the original owner and theyre getting it back while giving u a GIFT card so its not like ur running with there money lol, ur gonna have to spend it there eventually. If it was bought on a stolen card, or something, thats the only thing wrong with what happened and its not ur fault anyway.

I mean, if the Craigslist seller is too lazy to look into returning it and getting more of his value back, I don't see the problem with the buyer then returning it. Especiallly since all of that money will be funneled back to Toys R Us eventually - not to mention they'll probably get profit on it re-selling it.

I mean, I read through some of those comments- if the seller stole it, shame on him..but I wouldn't really look down on you unless you knew that he stole it and could claim innocence if the item was red flagged or something.

If it was legitimately obtained and he was just too clueless to return it or too lazy, don't see what you did was wrong.

It's a bit unconventional I suppose, but nobody would have batted an eye-lash if you bought it for 150 and then sold it for a profit.

So basically, I have no qualms with you unless you knew it was stolen or something and returned it by proxy to get a nice profit. However, I believe you didn't. Though I do wonder why on earth he didn't return it himself lol. Though if I'm being honest there have been times I've felt too lazy or it too much of a hassle to return an item and just keep it. So, you never know. Or maybe he had no means of getting back to the store to return it, for whatever reason. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrr maybe he's a thief, who knows.

I'd have done the same if you were making a buck off it. The store doesn't lose anything, they just have to re-sell it. Even if the original buyer ripped off the store, how are you to know? It's not you deliberately being his accomplice or something.

This isn't scamming at all lol. You're just profiting off the craigslister's stupidity/laziness.

I don't understand how you could even say the seller stole the iPad if he had a receipt?

He probably got the iPad as a present for Christmas and didn't need it.. I have a brand new pair of Beats by Dre Solo 2s.. I don't need them, if I sold them and gave the gift receipt to the buyer, I don't think you could say he's scamming if he returned the gift to the store in exchange for the FULL retail value, something I as the seller had the option to do beforehand.

Stolen CC or something along those lines. Just playing Devil's Advocate, it's still possible he stole it.

However, I don't think that's the case. Probably a gift as you said or just laziness.

I understand what you're saying and what he's saying, it's just good that you guys BOTH understand that it's not scamming the store. Also yes I know he didn't steal a CC, if he lied though...well then I don't really know how I would know. I buy tons of iPads and iPhones on CL weekly and sell them on eBay, people sell alot of stuff on ebay too...lol it's just...you just have to hope it wasn't stolen...

    anyways, thanks.

Yup, nothing you did was wrong man. If you can flip the market for profit, do it. There are millions of ways to make money in our generation - thinking outside the box is key. Come by it honest, but do it aggressively, and you'll be amazed at what you can achieve.
