How do your parents feel about RuneScape?

I was reading the thread *How does your parents feel about Sythe* on community general and I knew there were more parents out there that knew more about the game runescape then sythe. It would be interesting to see your responses

So How does your parents feel about sythe?

My parents hate the game since I lose real life money of membership and gold

 

idk....considering i'm 23 and haven't lived with my mom for over 9 years...I don't think she cares o.o

how do I feel about my 6 year old daughter playing runescape? im fine with it...

 

I don't think my parents dislike Runescape at all, they think it is a pretty cool game and they tease me and my little brothers for playing it.

I DO think that my parents secretly think Runescape is just a waste of time that we could be using to do homework, chores, or any sort of productive activity that is instead spent sitting in front of a computer for hours at a time. They let us play and aren't too vocal about it if they don't like it, but I have heard them make snide comments about RS more than once.

I am sure that from a parent's perspective, they would care far less about the game if it was something that I only played a little bit in my spare time, but unfortunately I spend many hours a day on RS and/or Sythe doing RS related things, and in the end it is just a giant waste of my time. But they are not objective to it aslong as other important things are getting done, and I'm sure they would much rather have me at home playing RS than out on the streets getting in to trouble like I was prior to this past June when I moved back in with them.

 

They find it a complete waste of time and money, I got into runescape about 5 years ago when a friend made me try it, got the hang of it for a while then quit when my main got banned with over 300m. Since then I have been off and on. My parents still think its a waste of time but as long as I am not flunking school and wasting my time and money on a game I guess they are okay with it.

 

Well I don't even play anymore but they don't care.

OP: My parent's aren't "huge" fans of it but they don't hate it. They have no problem with me spending my money on it.

 

When I first started playing it my parents thought it was amazing how you could play a game interacting with people from all over the world and how I made friends from the other side of world that I still talk to today. When I started playing it excessively they began to dislike it. My mother would still keep paying for my members though because she knew how much I enjoyed it =P.

 

i'm not sure my parents even know about runescape, but being as i don't live with my parents i don't think they'd care. as i'm not 13.

 

They don't really care, I know how to manage my time so that there is a balance between school and Rs.

In 06' - 08' my parents tried to draw me away from the game. It never worked, now they just accept my choice to play RuneScape.

 

They don't care, i'm 17 + i pay for my own membership and stuff, no problem

 

Their opinion: ''It's the work of satan''.

mine too, all they care about is just me not spending too much time playing any particular game and really i don't do anymore as i'm not as addictive to it as i was before.

 

There is zero chance a 6 year old is capable of playing Runescape lol, it's way too complicated for that age..

My parents don't really care as I don't play as much as I used to. But before they complained quite a lot.

 

my parents didn't think highly of it to be honest.

but they could play evony and that was supposed to be fine. -.- lol
