Any one ever had the "Data Recovery Virus"?

I'm just asking if anyone has had this virus or think they might have it. I got it last night and spent awhile trying to remove it and I did but I had to use several different programs special designed to remove it. Its a high risk security virus designed to take money. Just letting you guys know. It can be downloaded via email and from just going to certain websites. So please be watchful of where you are going and make sure you have an up to date anti virus. I just recently got Malwarebytes' Anti-Mailware and its been great so far already stopped a few things. If you have any question just ask.

 

Yeah my old computer got it and it was basically impossible to remove without paying someone else to do it so I just got this new laptop

 

Just wondering would recovering your computer fix this virus?

 

Yeah but it typically won't let you.

 

I had this years ago, probably could've removed but I was going to format anyway.

 

I got this on my old computer and a few other serious viruses browsing through the Deep Web, it was a pile of junk anyway with nothing of importance to me.

 

I had a nasty one once that actually put bugs on my desktop ended up crashing the PC entirely. All from a link in MSN O.O

 

Yeah it took me awhile to get it off. I had to get a root kit remover and shit but its all good. Sounds like its kind of old, maybe I got a newer version? Hell I don't know, but I was just letting you guys know.

 

Did some reading on the topic, whoever designed this nasty little bug had greed set as their top priority
