Easy mod suggestion for double posting

Well, on another forum I use that is phpBB, there is a modification that cuts back on double posting. If you post a post exactly the same as the last post you made, so if I post "Good guide." on a thread, then I post "Good guide." on another thread, it would say "You're not allowed to make another post exactly the same as your last" and not post it. So if I was to lag out and double post, it would only show 1 post, and not 2 or 3 or 4. I know there is a way to do it in VB, because everything is possible, except TJ getting laid.

Anyways, you can also just delete your post.
I have only doubleposted once in my time on Sythe. It's just about not click "Post Quick Reply" 2 times.

 

I've had doubles happen a lot. The servers, if you haven't noticed, are down a LOT. When you hit "post" when they go down, it's not a single post when you go back to view it. It's not a huge amount of work to go into the coding and ensure that posts that are the same as the last one a user has posted, cannot be posted. Saves mods work in the long run.

It would be pointless really, i mean, thats what we have moderators for. It's really not that much of a hastle to delete doubleposts. It would be more difficult installing that mod than actually just moderating the sections, cleaning the double posts.

And just because phpBB has that, doesn't mean vBulletin has it. Someone would probably have to make it.

Everyone needs to stop being so anxious and then clicking the submit button so many times and we wouldn't have much of this problem. Everyones page gets slow, and doesn't load, so they feel the need to press the submit button like multiple times. It has nothing to do with how many times you press it.

I also disagree. If you post reply once it wil not double post, unless you do it on purpose to get postcount, then it isnt an accident.

 

You do know by when he says Easy Mod, he doesn't mean moderators? He means a feature that does this, kind of like a plug-in.

 

Well as far as double posting goes, most people do it on here on accident because the site is slow and they click the post button once and it doesn't load so they do it again.
