Devs: What is your favourite Web App Framework?

Web Developers, what is your favorite web framework to use and why?

A web framework is a software framework that is designed to support the development of dynamic websites, web applications, web services and web resources.

A few examples of web frameworks are:
Symfony, Ruby on Rails, Django, Sinatra, Zend, Laravel, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, etc.

I personally favor Ruby on Rails, and my second favorite would have to be Django.
I like these two frameworks because they are simple and easy to develop in, which is a good thing in the real world because it is easier to meet deadlines when working on projects.

 

I've done a lot of PHP / MySQL & Front-End projects. But personally have never used any of these frameworks. I have heard good things about Laravel though.

 

I use Magento which is supposedly built on the Zend framework, but I haven't seen much of it so far!

I'm quite interested in Django though.

 

I've only done some PHP/JS/HTML. Like what I've heard of Ruby though

 

Codeigniter has fallen by the wayside. Laravel or Phalcon would be the way to go if you're a PHP dev.

 

All of the above; however, we prefer ruby.

 

What's the difference between ruby on rails and like jQuery? Do they do pretty much the same thing and it's just preference? Does ruby on rails do client and server side?
