Question regarding buying accounts

I've played RS on and off since early 04, so I'm well aware of the recovery process of accounts. I have been dying to play 07, and I'd much rather purchase an account than grind up from nothing. How the hell do you assure that you don't get scammed? I see tons of accounts I would buy for the prices asked but I just can't bring myself to do it as I know how RS account security works. Am I missing something here? Any advice is appreciated lol

 

You're better off creating an account and pay for a trusted skilling service, or spend the money on premium bots and bot the shit out of the account yourself. In my own experience it's more likely that you end up with a recovered account than with a ban. If you really want to buy an account though, look for people with account shops or some account selling vouches and their history of reports (if no one reported the user for recovering an account).

 

Your absolute best option is to make an account and buy a skilling service or buy a premade thats from someone trusted...

 

Honestly as other people have stated buying accounts right now is very insecure. From personal experiences I would not buy unless from a very trusted user here, or like Telos mentioned, creating the account yourself and paying for it to be trained.

 

Seriously its sad.... if you buy an account from anyone other then mod who was original owner you will more then likely get scammed.... Some of these 07 accounts are selling for so cheaply...

And then another issue is that the people who are trusted ask for a shit ton.. Well trusted as in active on sythe and less likely to scam. Viz wants like $375 for his max pure... and Krenshaw wanted $300 for a good pure.... While others who are less trusted will sell those accounts for 200 or less... Its shitty i bought or tried to buy a really high init pure 2 days ago for $150 total value. The dude had 500 post count, quest shop, leveling service, had some mini ranks and such so he was active. I got all his info went through the necessary steps and what happened? I trade over should of used middle man he would of recovered anyways... I trade over cash and he then blocks me then ddoses me LOLOLOLOL. I vidded the whole 30min convo, exchange, then ddos so he was banned. So was the $150 worth his sythe account? Apparently yes....


tl:dr even people who appear active can scam... so your options are mod's personal account or pre made + skilling service... Which can be cheaper then that 375 max pure sometimes anyways. But it just wont be ready to pk.

 

Getting someone to skill on your account is more expensive, but more safe. Buying a account is OK, as long as you are buying from someone EXTREMELY trusted.

 

Buy from those who are deemed trustworthy or just pay for training. Can find cheap training sometimes, even for free!

 

Buy from mods or people with donations that exceed the cost/value of the account your purchasing. Make sure you document everything, to ensure a ban is warranted.

I've been scammed buying accs so many times in the last month of trading.

You honestly have two options. Either 1) create an account and start from scratch, or 2) buy an account. You could buy an account from a trusted member on Sythe or from one of those asian websites. I personally wouldn't buy accounts simply because I don't like the idea of someone being able to recover the account at any given time.
