Deranking a LOT easier?

Anyone noticed that after losing even just 2 games in a row they're deranking, completely ignoring the fact that I may have won 7 in a row before? It might be just me but it's really annoying, just wondering if anyone has noticed any changes?​

 

Pretty sure Valve is changing the rankings, so a lot of people are meant for lower ranks than before.

 

Yeah I just read some other posts on here, apparantly they're trying to lower the average rank and make it harder to get global- but i've gone from LE to MGE and i'm struggling in MGE games, it seems way too extreme

 

Err, why would it be to extreme? If you were MGE before it'd make sense you'd struggle now

 

No, a few days ago i was LE, now i've been deranked to MGE and i'm struggling in that rank, which makes no sense

 

Hmm, I actually just experienced something really odd.

Just got promoted after a long win streak, continued to win 4 more games in a row, all with good scores, then lost a 13-16 game where I had a good score and got demoted.

I got banned 6 weeks for griefing in global. Then at 23th Dec it got unbanned and ranked lem. Got supreme after a few matches and won almost all my matches so far, looking forward to get global again soon. They should have made this change a few months ago, global was way to easy to get before and so many didn't deserve their ranks. +1 for valve at this change, more competition in mm

my cousin said he got demoted from dmg after a few losses, and that doesn't sound right

 

Yeah they've made it harder to gain ranks, which is fair enough i guess as it will effect everyone equally. We will still be playing against people in our skill bracket, it will just have a different name i guess
