    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

Title says it all pretty much.
for all of you who don't know what a transsexual is,
it's basically someone who feels as they are mentally the opposite sex of what they are physically.
I've been struggling with this for the last 3-4 years.
It's a tough thing to deal with really, and it constantly leaves me depressed because no matter what I am constantly trying to be "myself" even though I will never ACTUALLY be "myself."
Someday I would like to have SRS (Sexual Reassignment Surgery) and become a girl, but it's super expensive.
Which, is probably which frustrates me the most.
Not to mention the discrimination is rampant. Homosexuality is commonly accepted now-a-days, but transsexuality is still considered a mental disease, which it's not. There's scientific evidence that transsexual's are born with brains that equal to womans, rather than mens. (If that makes sense.)

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

Sexual orientation has nothing to do with being a transsexual.
To answer your question, no. I'm not gay.
I happen to have a girlfriend of a year on the 15th.

    Below is my girlfriend.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

This is really interesting... I have watched a show before about transgendered people and it was quite fascinating, although it is a bit odd for me to wrap my head around.

If you really feel like you identify better as a woman though, who are we to tell you what your sexuality is and what it has to be? My suggestion to you is to do what makes you happy, and what will give you the most joy and fulfillment in your life. I know SRS is quite expensive, but if its something you are completely sure you want, maybe you could start saving for it sooner rather than later :) In my opinion, there is no sense remaining a man if that is going to make you unhappy for the rest of your life, or if it will hold you back from expressing yourself the way you FEEL rather than the way you look.

I can only imagine how hard life as a transgendered person must be, and so I wish you luck, courage, and happiness in your future :) Don't stop fighting for what you believe in, and what will make you happy.

if this is you, then its you.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

I know what you're trying to say by this, but make sure you're completely sure about anything like this before taking any decisions etc.
It's funny that you say 'mentally opposite' (i'm presuming in the gender sense), since men and women whilst different aren't always worlds apart. Don't let the naive masculinity of what males are shown to be on TV, or just gender stereotypes influence you into thinking any different.

Do you have a Councillor? Being yourself isn't about gender nor appearance. Whilst you might be talking about it in that sense, there are plenty ways to become comfortable with whatever you are, so maybe consulting someone would be a good start.

It's true, and it's another option you should consider incredibly carefully - a lot of things will change for you, even in the liberal world we live in today. About the mental disease/science issue, that's true, but I still don't think you should let gender stereotypes play a heavy role in your decision and everything. I just hope that whatever happens you don't basically end up regretting it.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

A few hours ago I just watched a 12-year old 'come out' on Youtube. It's becoming easier for the later generations to express themselves without fear or embarrassment.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you; at all. All I can say, since I'm not in that kind of position, is that you should keep on staying true to yourself. If you feel that's how you want to be then you should embrace it.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

You may want to check out KINGgutterface on youtube, she is also a transsexual and has lot's of interesting videos that may help you.

For those of you who aren't transexual (which I'm not) she still has some very informative videos to help you understand how other people are.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

I would also like to know if your girlfriend knows? I have only known of one person where I'm from to be a trans gender, so I don't really know about how everything is. So you are a guy, but want to be a women? and you have a girlfriend? So you are considered straight right now and but feel like a lesbian in a sense? I'm not trying to pry or be mean, I am just curious.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

    Yes,
    my girlfriend knows.
She doesn't really mind at all. She's worried I'll become a different person, but she supports me no matter what.
It is a huge decision, and my family doesn't know because of how judgemental they are. I'm not straight, my orientation is bisexual, I just feel my true gender is a woman.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

You only live once. Fuck what anybody else has to say. Don't tell you're parents at this age though. Wait till you're ready for surgery with the money, get it and present yourself. Do what you want and no one's gonna judge you.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

I'm opposed to transsexualism, but what you do with your life is none of my business.

If you are serious about that operation, try clinics in Thailand. The surgery + plane tickets + staying there will cost less than ones in the US and are generally of better quality.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

I'm really interested in this kind of thing because my brother was a transsexual, unfortunately he wound up killing himself. Not sure if it's related to him being trans, but whenever the topic comes up I tend to ask a lot of questions to try to understand where he was coming from.

    1) Does your girlfriend support you?
    2) You don't like men then? So you're a transsexual lesbian in a way? :p
    3) Have you started HRT / if not do you plan to?
    4) Started transitioning at all?

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

    It probably was. :/
There's a high suicide rate among transsexuals.
Well. She kind of does she kind of doesn't. She has a friend who is getting a sex change and it changed him for the worse, so she's scared that's going to happen to me.
Well, I like men however I happen to have an incredible girlfriend, and we're going to get married eventually. :)
I have not, but yes I am planning on starting HRT, and have not started transitioning. I have been looking into doctors/counselers to go too. It's quite a lengthy process.

    Hi, I'm a transsexual.

It could be just my ignorance but what is the difference between transsexualism and the mental disorder Gender Identity Disorder?

I mean you should do what you feel and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
