Nothing is getting done there... everyone is not going first... kids joined like yesterday is saying that they won't go first no matter what.

People don't even believe in mods because of all those "sigex" and like... banned ex-mods.

    - Something needs to be done... nothing is being done in that section... I don't think a single sale has been made.

I've never seen a scam report from that section either - although, that could have more to do with the fact that RL trades require a genuine home address of at least one party, and are exceptionally more difficult to report.

However, if the problem is indeed a lack of use, I don't think the fear of scams is the only issue. After all, account sales can run as high as any RL item, and are just as easily scammed. Rather, most traders on the site are kids, who have no way to get to a post office unless their parents drive them (implying that they require their parents' approval) - I think that, more than anything, limits the section's practicality.

I'd be curious to know how many people have actually made a sale there as well, though. If the section is just wasted space and extra modding, it should be removed.

I actually did sell two things there (iTouch & Assassin's Creed), to people who trusted me enough to go first.

And Sin, there have been scam reports from that section. They aren't very difficult to report. If the other party does not have proof for sending the item, then they should be banned.

It is not a waste of space. I'm just mad it is so poorly moderated. You Jew spends more time doing spam reports, and I never see Darkgroove there.

Are you claiming new members have to go first?

You know Sigex wasn't a mod, right? Anyway that sounds a lot like the other market forums (just people get scammed in those other forums), however if someone doesn't want to use a MM and claims that you have to go first no matter what, then you know something is wrong and just go on and find a new trade.

I get his point. I hate it when someone with 1 post and the name "I R LEGIT" says "No OMM, No MM, You go first or GTFO". It would be nice if a new set of rules required all members who don't meet a certain criteria to at least use OMM.

I agree with this. im sick of little kids joining the site and say they won't go first to anyone ever. it just fucks this site up. 80% of sythe is under 13. Something does need to be done about that section.

Nobody wants to go first, lets just get that understood right now. The chances of a new member being a scammer is just as good as a old member being a scammer. Post count means nothing, its just a number you can easily obtain. You shouldn't gain someones trust because of your post count. Now i know thats not the case, since i fiddle with the market once in a while.

True, people are just afraid of people with low post count. No one should be forced to go first. If, in a trade, neither person wants to go first, just find another trade, it's not that hard.

Well, there could be a set of protocols and rules to sell which could normalize all the activity in this section, and some assigned moderators.

    I could help :D

It's impractical for this site. The risk a user takes using Sythe's real world trading center verse Ebay is crazy. You're more likely to get scammed here because Sythe isn't built for real world trading.
