The problem is bolded here. We need to look at better ways to educate the regular sythe user. Not changing how things work because the average sythe user is stupid.

Not being required to tell people does not mean they are not hiding it. If a customer asks and they say yes they are free to go to another service provider. Also, I'd love to see what statistics/evidence you have that 3rd world workers pose an increased risk to service providers because, right now it seems you are biased against people based on their geographical location

 

The average Sythe user maybe "Stupid" but when you're being scammed by people with a ton of trust that doesn't make you stupid. Just to clear that up. Most people are just uneducated in Sythe trading etc. @Tyler

 

This is a suggestion thread, so I'll do my best not to spam it but just wanted to inquire how you think he's "trusted"

Not just Venezuelans either.

This isn't bias it is the truth, go look through your archive you'll see majority of scams since I have been here / ruined accounts have come from 3rd world participants, and if you read my notice on the initial post I am not making this specifically for those in those locations.. This is an in general post about better ways to help those who are under educated / give newcomers wanting to offer services a period of delay to help stop those who are repeat scamming constantly.

I EVEN STATE I HIRE VENEZUELANS FOR MY PERSONAL PROJECT ACCOUNTS, HOWEVER THAT BEING SAID I PERSONALLY SEE THE ISSUES THEY CAUSE AS MOST OF THEM COMING HAVE NEVER PLAYED OSRS BEFORE AND ARE ONLY DOING THIS FOR $ THEY DO NOT HAVE THE LOVE OF THE GAME. MANY HAVE SAID THIS THAT THEY WOULD NEVER LOG INTO THIS IF IT WASN'T THE BEST SOURCE OF INCOME FOR THEM.

The only goal here is to get a general discussion going between the community on how we can become better equipped as a community to defeat the issues at hand <3

It's not that I am specifically saying that he is trusted, I am saying that in general the suggestion isn't about two people that have scammed. I've seen people with a lot more trust do exactly the same thing. Everyone wants to talk about trust being subjective. Which honestly it is. Someone with 600 vouches could scam just the same as someone with 100. This is a plan that Yellow Hat is attempting to put in place to further protect people. Like I said most people aren't stupid they're just uneducated. @Tyler

 

@Tyler not all providers hiring venezuelans are hiring those that will cause issues this is not what I'm stating.



Also you stating we should educate is correct we as a community should sit down and attempt to find a way to show newcomers and veterans alike a better, safer way other than saying "should of used an MM" as not everyone even knows or understands that system let alone "to ask if a provider is using 3rd world employees if they themselves don't understand the risk on it."

There are plenty of successful providers using cheaper help on account services with 0 issue , but even on products in real life things are stated where they are made, so the "CONSUMER" has a choice if they want to purchase with that country of origin. < I am not being bias this is the way the world works.

When I sell Cisco it's clearly listed its point of origin and manufacturing so the "END USER" has the choice if they want that equipment.

Not only do you probably not have evidence of this, I'd assume a giant corporation would not ban people based off of where they live alone

What goal would that be? to make money? or are you insinuating that because they are from Venezuela they are only here to scam?



You seem to be making a lot of assumptions based on people's country, wanting to limit their ability to join Sythe and making claims without evidence. Are you here to make Sythe great again?

 

I'll stop posting regarding any of the statistics etc now, and will leave space for others to comment their ideas <3

Not here to control the thread but open what hopefully can become a way for us to manage all situations in regards to what needs to be done to help better educate and protect the community ^.^

I'm not sure what you're after here, if you read my initial post it isn't targeting only 3rd world providers, I feel you are trying to focus on this for a reason which was never the intention of the thread so I'll leave it be and edit out what might be misconstrued.

@Tyler I removed the majority of what you would call "speculation" since I personally do not have the desire or time to dig through archives to post a statistics page.

Thank you for pointing out without said evidence it can be considered offensive.

Maybe one day I'll sit down and do what you've requested in terms of providing you proof.

I'd say majority of scammers are re-offenders, not third country users.

You want the only viable solution to avoid situations like this?

Always use a official middleman. In the end, it's the users option to trust someone or not.

 

Going to bed , lets try to get some ideas together on how to get a system in place to help create a safer environment for trading.

 

When you put it like that it makes more sense, I was viewing this as a model for most businesses IRL that label their product as a point of origin, much love and thanks brother @ABM
