[DENIED] Wall of shame/debt

I've seen enough people report someone that owes money to them, and then suddenly 10 other people appear claiming the same thing, and none of them being aware how much people are being affected until a scam occurs.

So i'm suggesting a topic that contains a list of users with debt to people to avoid pyramid scheme like businesses from going out of control.
This list would include user debts from scam reports where it was agreed to pay a certain amount overtime. Or when user that is owed money requests it. (new report a debt section for this?)

 

If someone has debt to more than 1 person they should be DNT to avoid a pyramid forming.
I say more than 1 as it's a little different if someone has a good track record and then a ban occurs & they are sticking to the payment plan ofc

 

i agree about dnt/twc in these cases, but current problem is everyone thinks that they're the only one user owes money too and it's not worth reporting because user is making a slight effort to pay back, which may as well be new victims money to keep the pyramid going.

 

No. There would be no way for staff to enforce this on peer to peer transactions

 

There is no need to enforce this, it would have to be requested by the person that is being owed money

 

I suggested this long ago and it was denied.

How can there be no way to enforce it if there are multiple scam reports on someone who is allowed to stay in the market with debt?

 

Then that defeats the purpose of the suggestion because if its optional almost nobody would use it.

 

I don't see a reason why people wouldn't use it, it provides a great damage control. If you report a users debt to you he has a lot more incentive to pay it back faster and if we see debts piling up we can stop it before it goes out of control

 

Could just write the debt outstanding on their profile page so it's up there for everyone to see.

 

Allow debt to be post on profile and only remove by mod once debt proven paid, maybe good idea? Do support, will help with issue like @Gun @Bolt to post awareness of debt for member to view somehow

 

Would probably require too much work to manually edit every profile, a topic sounds easier

 

Yes thread sticky to be add but where would go? RAS area? Marketplace area maybe friend? Assume is accept by mod, how would be manage? Would user have to pm mod or post in thread? Maybe this suggestion is easier if idea have more detail to work on

Why not friend? If debt proof sent to mod is valid, mod can add name to thread in RAS as Tigeris want to suggest, user who owe debt will be require to post proof to mod and be remove from list. Can save many user on site from be scam, more work for mod though , but if to protect community is good idea yes?

Support this, I think good way to avoid more user be scam, less opportunity from user in debt, but user may try to hide, may be difficult still, awareness can help

 

This is one of the many risks you take when lending someone money. While it would be great for there to be some sort of public ledger, there is not something that can be easily done nor managed and there are many ways it could be circumvented. Thank you for the suggestions.
