    When you already have another unique ID copied it wont copy the new one if you right click copy on it but gives the illusion that it did.

    FIX: To use unique IDs as evidence users must first copy and paste a unique text given to them by the staff member handling the report that they are screensharing with before copying the users unique ID. Which wouldnt allow them to have the ID of the user theyre attempting to scam already copied.

    (they must show that they have something other than the (or faked) ID copied and pasted before copying and pasting the ID)

    After the case that just happened to me, there should be a set procedure put in place for dealing with situations like this. It was the first to happen, but won’t be the last.

    Well. What can you really do right? People that get scammed don't even use the proper template. Not sure how moderators can expect them to "Sreenshare".

    This isn’t to protect buyers who claim they’ve been scammed. This is more towards sellers who are being framed of scamming.

    This suggestion is just a minor tweak to the procedure that would need to be followed to allow the unique ID to be used as evidence. It would be the only way to prove that the unique ID they copied and sent isn't faked..? If voice can't be used as evidence... I can't imagine how this can be

    EDIT: It's not a tweak to the procedure but more putting one in place.

    Lots of things can be faked but implementing this would definitely make it harder for scammers to fake it but on the other hand lots of people who get scammed anyways are new and probably can't be bothered if reporting is made too complicated.

    Moderators screensharing is not a viable option, the volume of discord scam reports is WAY to large, staff would spend all day screensharing users and a lot of users are uncomfortable screensharing, I know I am even though I have did so quite a lot with admins/mods in the past.

    I do agree its a problem but screensharing isn't a viable solution, I don't know what is either.
