[Denied] Modification of the DO NOT TRADE RANK

As I’m a member of the prestigious rank at the moment I feel like we should be able to view the marketplace and buy from other users but not sell. I think this would prevent “ban evaders” creating accounts to buy services and gold from other users. I can simply log out of my sythe account and add one of the many users within sythe using their discord or skypes without ever having to interact with the user on sythe. If I was scammed I could still create a guest account and report this member and he/she would still get banned so I struggle to see the point of restricting us from even viewing the marketplace.

Just for the record I've not participated in any of the above

 

DNT is a punishment, when I wrote it, it was meant to irritate users for the specific reason of encouraging DNT's to repay their debts or fix their issues they have. Sure you can logout and browse the market - As a forum the staff cant really control guest browsing. The forum also currently has no restrictions in terms of saying usergroup DNT may view sections but may not post in them, theoretically I would assume that like a standard usergroup on a forum this exists or could be added pretty easily, but do we want to?

Your not suppose to be using sythe as a market, I couldn't come up with a way to completely stop people from doing what u said(browsing as a guest because its not viable) so I went with the next best thing which was to make it irritating to DNT to have to logout and back in if they want to see the market.

It's suppose to be a punishment, not a reward. You would have to give me some very, very good reasons to justify me ever supporting making DNT easier at this time.

After over a year of reflection and seeing that 95% of the original system remains I would say if I could go back and do it again I would of written in a time table for DNT's to repay their debts, i.e every DNT is granted for *6 months* and at that point their re-banned if they fail to repay their debts in full. I think I got pretty close in terms of helping keep the community alive and ease of getting DNT, I probably should of been a little harsher in terms of encouraging repayment.

The point is that you haven't properly been through the pardon system as is necessary to be a full member of our site. Considering your prev. accs are banned for scamming, this is exactly why we don't want you in the market.

Our rules aren't why people ban evade. It is entirely their choice. They could just follow the rules in the first place and not scam. And if they want to return, they could do it the right way and pay for what they've done first and go through the system we have set up to allow members to make amends.
