[DENIED] Hold people accountantable

I agree, if everyone followed a similar PM that is required by OMM, then there wouldn't be an issues.

If using Discord it should be required to use unique IDs as well in my opinion.

There isnt a good enough showing of what a proper pm looks like and finding a user who doesnt send a proper pm is too easy. Guess we'll see what happends this time.

 

It's one of those things that I am out of date on, I see the reports (5-10 a week) but I don't ever hardly PM anymore because I never go first :shrug: and nobody I trade with ever wants a PM.

If the issue is growing more and more rampant than something needs to be done, you would be hard pressed to institute a required PM format or something though because I have a feeling Sythe would shoot that down referencing the free market in about 5 seconds. It's one thing for Champ to make guidelines/suggested formats, its another to dictate them.

Sending bad PM's is a bad thing, its not good for any party involved, however you could potentially deal a pretty bad blow to the community here. If every moron who sends a bad PM starts getting held accountable, most of the users doing the bad PMs don't have a lot of money or aren't big sythe users, if we hold them accountable what then? We start having them scamquit, they leave sythe, they ban evade, it causes ALOT of fundamental problems. It's not as easy as "hold them accountable" you would fundamentally create more scammers, more ban evaders, more rule breakers through this, and not a few either, even if say, half of the current reports turn to scamming/ban evading, you have 5-10 people a week all of a sudden doing that, that's ALOT more problems than some bad PM scams.

Maybe if its a continuous thing, but I think TWC's already do a pretty good job of making people send good PM's. In my whole time here I only remember two cases where a TWC hasn't been enough to make someone send a proper PM?

Seems a little harsh.

I swear ever since a pm has been required for discord theres been nothing but bad pms and scams as a result.

 

maybe increase TWC to 2 months.

also should be putting not only your own unique ID, but also the users ID who youre trading with

People are already held accountable for bad pm's causing scams? Have I missed something? It isn't a slap on the wrist, if you cause a scam you are responsible for paying for it, unless I'm thinking of another circumstance? @A Broken Man lmk

As far as I can remember this wasn't the case before, but if so then ya, cause a scam pay for a scam or receive a ban, not necessarily permanent although I don't know how you can weigh a straight up scam vs this, as the user didn't necessarily have malicious intent but still resulted in a scam, I will tag @Champ here as this is his domain essentially, see how he weighs in on this. Maybe there is a reason all of us are missing that is cause for this not being implemented before now? Whatever the case, support.

 

Ultimately Discord bugs are out of our control. Regardless of the punishments (Mainly because people never stay up-to-date with the rules) The poor PM's / business practices will continue. If this becomes a major problem in the months to come, I will refer back to this suggestion and look to reform how things are handled.
