[DENIED] Lets start using the Vouch forum properly and stop the bumping loophole?

No support because big business keeps this forum from dying off, this is the nail in the coffin ultimately for this forum if this clears.

 

Thank you for breaking this down. These are other scenarios I am conscious of but did not mention simply because I assumed everyone would have the common sense to acknowledge this.

You are a big merchant and I am well aware of the kind of sales output you have, including both onsite and offsite traffic. I really appreciate your unbiased view here, I have huge respects for that.

 

How can kaii’s opinion be viewed as unbiased when he himself uses this market tactic to bump his threads early lol. Seems to me that the customers he sells to don’t vouch nearly as much as others, so he’s opted to stop others from using this business tactic. I’m changing my earlier support to a no support, doesn’t seem like people’s reasons for wanting the change are genuine.

 

Apart from the occasional bump I only see bump bot posts on:

If so, that's not unbiased at all. Btw not an attack, just want to point it out.

A lot of people who have replied to this topic are not on the best of terms with me and many still supported.

I want to keep this on topic as much as possible. This is a suggestion I have made that I strongly believe in and I would like others to share their thoughts without straying from the original context.

 

No I don’t personally believe you get the traffic pie, dieze, laziz and arcus get due to nature of your site. A middleman of sorts with payments being made up to 10 hours later, that’s not an attack but belief based on observation. Let’s not act like children and make outlandish claims of me not liking you, this is bigger than you kaii this is about sythe. When looking back through kaiis gold threads I noticed a gold selling vouch on the second page, I agree it doesn’t seem as though this ingenious tactic is being used on the same scale as it is with other sites. To further the reasoning behind my change of heart @Divine mentioned that it could negatively affect site traffic with some pretty reassuring points, I don’t want to take that risk. (In the sf)

 

This is the opinion most of us in the discord share, its no surprise Kaii supported this, he has mainly dutch and foreign country customers, he literally just showed the "Total amount of currency converted to USD" proving that point, its a well known not suprising fact that English speaking consumers from the US/UK/Canada/Etc vouch vastly more often, he stands to deal a blow to his competition by restricting their ability's to bump their threads down to his.

This is common sense here.

Does not take a genius to do 2+2 and get 4. Sites like Arcus, Ariba, etc literally get 10x the amount of vouches as him and it pulls money out of his pocket, we are probably talking 5-6 figures here at least with his sales volume.

I was willing to sit back and let him support it w/o issue, I'm not willing to do that when he's crying unbiased lol, I'm not unbiased for obvious reasons but people know I am going to be biased on this, crying unbiased as a major gold site whos losing money to his competition is not going to work lol.

You want to support sure, want to no support, alright. You want to try to argue that your unbiased when your competition is stealing tens of thousands/hundreds of thousands of dollars from you and this suggestion would knock them all down a notch? Come on lol.

 

This should be the way its dealt with IMO.

Seems like a the best solution thus far is what @FlyingToast suggested, which is;

TLDR: Only the bump button will push a thread to the top.

I personally support this suggestion. What's to stop a gold seller from selling 30 times in 8 hours and spreading those "vouches" out among all his threads on the forum. Someone buys 1m osrs and the vouch goes on his max main selling thread. And another 5m vouch goes on his account services thread. He could literally stay #1 for all of time in every section he posts in lol.

If "spreading" isn't allowed and you can only have vouches posted in the thread relevant to the trade then I think it's still kinda bullyish in favor of the big dogs, but not a big deal imo.

 

Haven’t had time to read the full thread yet but so far I like FlyingToast’s bump idea - would definitely bring SG into bigger play (finally?) as well which is a plus.

Everyone knows there are loopholes whether they are business tactics or straight up loopholes ignored/unnoticed.

In a simple way of looking at it, it would make sense that vouches go on the vouch threads & only timely bumps are made on the thread (unless bumped earlier by whatever fair ways that everyone has access to - but I can also see this being denied for the same reason, a free market isn’t necessarily fair when the “unfairness” comes as a result of popularity/size of business).

 

The issue I have is these big sites won't bother referring users to sythe to vouch for them if there posts didn't bump their gold selling threads. Ok it does seem that these users don't become avid users of sythe after visiting but do they visit other gold sites and use services on here unbeknown to us? I don't think anyone really knows the impact it would have which has led to me being on the line about this. Toast's suggestion does seem like the fair middle ground but at what cost to the site, if any?

 

A quick note in relation to @FlyingToast 's idea:

- Autobumpers would not become obsolete. @Flamedog 's autobumper for example, has the ability to autobump via a bump button, and also supports 2FA.

 

Don't Support. I dont believe it is a loophole at all; vouches are allowed to be left on the thread in relation to the trade that occured. I do agree they should be on the correct threads at all times, e.g. buying gold on buying gold thread, selling gold on selling gold thread - however active market users IMO should appear nearer the top.

It's no unfair advantage if everyone has the ability to do this; and when a new customer is browsing prices and checking whom to buy from, seeing alot of activity + feedback from a particular thread imo would make them feel safer about buying.

Rules fine as it is imo.

 

flly support this. vouches should be in 1 place where it belongs.
the vouch section was made for this so it should be used like this.

Vouches currently, can only be placed on the thread relating to the trade.

So if someone is vouching for a gold sell on their max main renting page, report the post and it'll be removed.
