Simplify suggestions

Let me break this down into 2 major issues I have with the suggestions section and the way it's dealt with:

1. Don't just post "support" but give an actual reason to your support

I agree to this in a certain extent, doing this a suggestion will mostly stay on topic and people won't just have to search thru the pages to see what they are discussing.
But I do think that suggestions should have a poll on top of their suggestion, this way people who just agree to something that somebody has said can vote support or no support instead of just quoting a message and saying it there.
I feel like this all would increase the amount of people who would engage as it's an easier way to vote and you wouldn't have to necessary write a whole text.
Also this would make it obvious if the majority of people are supporting a suggestion or not as with some suggestions the same person replies multiple times quoting others their message thus making it look like the votes are different unless you really read thru every single one.


2. The speed of which some suggestions are being closed / brought to voting.

A perfect example is the just accepted suggestion about the new LOL update:

It took less than 24 hours after being posted to be closed and even already a new section added.
Sure this is a new hype and just like with APEX it was instantly added into sythe as it is a new market that can thrive and bring business to the forum, but it feels like suggestions that direct problems are currently being forgotten about and just left behind.

For instance here are a few suggestions that at this moment could be closed due to A. their massive discussion that has now ended and is waiting on admins to come in and give their feedback B. A suggestion that wasn't thought thru and is just waiting to be closed.


Examples:
Reward CDT/TC members for there work
Change the rules for cheating in CDT events
Removal of Discord Ranks
ban gay shit
Some of these where obvious closure suggestions and have been shut down but still remain on the page leaving a cluster of threads that makes it so you have 2 pages of suggestions.

Forbid advertising direct competition to sythe
If user advertise's a company in a thread and make them take responsibility for it
Rewarding buyers or sellers for vouching.
These threads have had heavy discussions but haven't had any response in over a month, we are just waiting on admins to now respond to this with either a closure and a result or at least feedback.

Point 1 seems like a simple suggestion, mandatory poll on every suggestion with support & no support to make it quick and easy for people to vote and make the suggestion threads cleaner.
Point 2 is more aimed at longer sittings suggestions that should be dealt with by admins, if you have time to create a whole new section for a game and approve everything within 24 hours, then you should have time to deal with suggestions that aren't supposed to even be in the suggestion tab and can be closed and removed.


I know this is technically 2 suggestions but it's mainly that both would help suggestions be made simpler.

 

No support, time could be spent elsewhere. Most suggestions are not even benefitial for the site anyway. And those that are does get approved relatively quickly.

 

No support. We don’t need polls for suggestions as this simply gives users the ability to not even explain in as much detail why they do or don’t support a idea. This itself can actually hurt the growth of a suggestion as I’m sure their have been times sythe admins/mods read these posts and use the comments users make to further improve said suggestion

Longer consideration when it comes to suggestions generally produces higher quality ideas, it gives the staff not only more time to consider the suggestion but think of ways to improve it - that also goes for the suggestion poster.

The first one is fine. I am totally all for requiring more than just an "I support". Polls are fine for simple suggestions imo, like small changes to Sythe or small changes to certain aspects of features. But if there is the possibility to more add more than a simple "I support", yes, they should have to explain their support. Always.

So, support 1 and no support 2.

1) No support. Anyone voting on a suggestion needs to add valuable input/reasoning as to why they do or do not support.
2) I agree that suggestions could use a clean-up, but not a top priority.

 

For point one, we want to encourage discussion but filter out low quality posts like "support". That rule has been in place for a long time and won't be changed, any posts on a suggestion must elaborate on their views.

For the second point, we have a monthly meeting to discuss suggestions (today's this month's meeting) so at the very least almost all suggestions will be handled within a month. Suggestions of high importance we make exceptions for and handle those sooner
