[DENIED] Disallow the use of [$$$ DONOR] in titles and threads.

Too many times have people been scammed by newcomers who throw down $50-$100. And scam twice that amount and leave.

user should check vouches before. It is not that hard to not get scammed newcomers need to read stickies and make better decisions like choosing to use a middle man

 

no support, you should be able to show off how much you have donated. what these "newcomers" do with that information is on them. if they don't do enough research on the sythe accounts they're trading for vouches, that's on them. if they don't do simple skype/discord searches on sythe before trading with them to make sure they're not a ban evader, that's on them.

 

But the majority of users getting scammed is these newcomers drawn in by the big $$$ donators. It should not be allowed to be a selling point of trust when you can say "I've donated XXX so therefore I'm trustworthy".

 

Then why don't you start every single thread with [$100 Donor].

There is a huge difference between a $25 donor with a June 2018 join date, and a user who has been registered on sythe for years.

People who get scammed by such users are usually trying to take on a deal that is too good to be true. That is why they choose the newcomer with $25 donor, over an aged user with $25. The scammers offer a deal that is too good to be true, and unfortunately it baits unsuspected users

 

No support as lime said there is a huge difference in a person who has donated and been a member for years as opposed to one who’s been here a month. The buyer shouldn’t even just rely on donor status easy to see any vouches or not whether thread or a vouch thread. It’s outlined on the site to look for these things

No support you cant throw hundreeds of donors that have been legit for years and worked hard to gain reputation under bus because of someone getting scammed by 100$ donor once a month lol.

You are saying that I am revoking the rank of donor status when I am disallowing it to be in the title of a thread or in the body.
Donor status should be nowhere around the selling point of your thread.

 

Whole point of donating for most people is to boost their trust and sales lol sythe will make no profit if they do what you are suggesting

No one here states that donation statues = trust.

If you believe donation status = trust you're just as bad as those scammers.

You donate to help fund and better the site. If you want to boost sales you purchase an ad space.

Dont get me wrong but you have no clue what you are talking about ) your whole point of post was that donations increase trust of newcommers and they scam because of that.

 

I believe if you donate you have full right to flex said donations on others, been saving up so I can donate too soon cause I love this community especially @Wortel

no support. should be free to use any factual edge you have to gain customers. this applies to not just on sythe but in the real world too.


I saw another suggestion that would make it so new accounts created had a waiting period before they could donate. I think that would be fine. Limit them to only $5 donor for a month or something. It is still a free market though so it would never get implemented.
