[Denied] Allow commission staking on sythe

What a lot of you guys might not know is that commission staking is not allowed on sythe:

my suggestion is very simple, I think we should allow commission staking.

What is commission staking?
it's basically when someone stakes for you and takes you accountable for any error which might happen but they charge % of the total stake

I'd add a lot more to thread, but It had been covered 3 or 4 times in suggestions a linked, so I don't think I need to add any info, why or why not to add it

What is commission staking?
it's basically when someone stakes for you and takes you accountable for any error which might happen but they charge % of the total stake

I think commission staking is good for those users who don’t know how to stake for themselves and want to have a go with an actual good/decent staker.

Biggest concern with this though is that a staker could just duel his alt all the time and purposely throw the big duels. So basically he received a vouch for the service and some GP. Rinse and repeat and we have ourself a very “trustworthy” staker.

Commission staking is definitely a huge risk and I think it would honestly cause more harm than good.

I've read the other threads and the main reason for disallowing it is the safety.

I support the suggestion under the condition some strict rules would be set up. 1 of them being that life-streaming it is mandatory. This can easily be done via Discord servers and the buyer can easily record it for proof.

The argument that it would attract a lot of scammers, doesn't make much sense to me. Scammers can already rent out their account, check it with their alt, and disconnect the renter as soon as he sees a big stake is going on.


Another argument that I haven't heard before but I believe is very relevant, is the chance of RWT bans. The past couple of months, maybe half a year, RWT bans for rentals seem to have increased by a lot. It seems that the sudden IP switches on typical rental accounts ( max melee, low total ) are monitored closely by Jagex. I know multiple big sellers that stopped doing rentals because of this.

Commission staking however prevents this problem.


TLDR: setting up strict rules for allowing commission staking can work IMO. The same is already being done with the Infernal cape section. The same can be applied here.

 

Afaik comission staking was allowed here back in the day and there was huge amount of scams because of it, no support.

 

No support imo, easily can scam customers via prayer or other rules. Even screen sharing could be faked due to custom plugins etc and overlays.

Thats like saying lets remove all gambling clans who advertise on sythe cus they could on purpose rig their bots like what ? [not to mention all gambling clans who alredy do advertise on sythe alredy offer commision staking ]

Just for example user Soul rich aka owner of king of stakes [clan based on commision staking since 2014]


So if clans are allowed to offer commision staking and no action has been taken on them then allow everyone to do it.

Why permit something else that’s easy to take advantage of? Giving scammers another way to scam. Sure some clans offer it already but it’s not on Sythe. It’s on their own discord servers and people take those risks.

This. But also no because it's been denied three times and OP provided no critical thought/logic/reasoning into why those declinations should be overturned.

Maybe because people make mistakes and learn from them. I’m not the same person I was 6 years ago and neither are you.

That being said, why are you against what I’m saying? I’m just trying to help and give my point of view. I’m someone who’s scammed before so I know how a scammer thinks. Commission staking can easily be taken advantage of. There are so many more cons than pros. You could literally pay someone to stake for you and they could just scam you and you would have no proof at all. They could flick the wrong style and say that’s part of their strategy or hit a tick too late and blame on PID and boom.. they have all of your gold just like that.

At the end of the day.. I’m only one person. If more people support this then so be it. My life will go on. This is only my opinion. I’m just trying to help.

the equivelence of what you're saying is saying, lets forbid all payment methods since crypto can theorethically be 51% attacked, paypal chargedback, cash in mail forged, credit card frauded etc.

This is actually a valid point. However, I also think it's a risk the staker will have to take.


Although there are a fair amount of arguments against allowing this, I don't understand why gambling discords are any different here. Most gambling discord servers have commission staking as well. These gambling discords don't advertise commission staking itself on Sythe, but they do advertise their servers (not only through banners, also in Dice Duels Sandbox).

Search 'Commission Staking' in the Sythe search bar and you'll find Dragondyce right away.

They actualy do advertise commision staking not just their discord heh.

 

This has been suggested multiple times now, and unfortunately it is something that comes with too many problems that make allowing it on-site a bad idea.

Staff have discussed it and we will be adding commission staking to the do not suggest list as well.
