Delta, do you know of any good sites for Australians where we can either purchase pre-made rigs or they sell comboes of the items to be included in rigs for a good price (e.g. case, gpu, cpu, hdd and whatnot in one package purchase)? I'm not aware of any good sites, and amazon is generally a rip-off.

Know a cheap mobo that can run Vishera processors out of the box?

I've got no other amd cpu's to update a mobo with.

I'm looking for a $500-$600 build. I really want a FX-6300, but I feel like i'm going to have to get a phenom II because of mobo compatibility issues.

I thought about getting a i5/i7 and running off of integrated grapics until I can get a nice gpu, but I can't make a good setup on a 500-600 dollar build.

Edit: Oh yeah. Not really looking to play bf3 or graphic intensive games. It would be nice to be able to but it's not 100% needed. Mostly just light-mid range type games.

should look at the link i gave wolf, all you need is a hard drive really not a bad build for the price http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7545249&CatId=4910

then you sell off your other parts, or make a second computer

I'm not well versed in amd products, but heres a shot

mobo that can run the fx-63000 amd+3

    fx-6300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113286
both can be had for under $300

.au is our internet suffix. The UK is like a 10 hour flight from us, so shipping would cost a mint for anything bought from a UK store.

If I did do an intel build without a dedicated gpu, do you have any idea what integrated intel hd 4000 could do until I bought a dedicated card?

Like do you think it could run light stuff like minecraft?

I can get good fps on MC running my horrible school laptop which is a centrino core, 2gb of horrible ram and no GPU. Integrated 4000 can handle MC fine I'd wager.

That build should be able to handle anything I throw it.

    FPS, RTS, and MMO.

You'd can play most things but will be stuck to lower resolutions, and plagued with slowdowns in some games.

Minecraft would probably run fine however. But AMD's integrated graphics are LEAGUES better.

I'm interested in seeing what your opinion on the following build is:

    • Maxed settings on any game at a minimum of 60 FPS
    • Raid Controller, ability to do RAID 10 with SSDs
    • Extreme overclocking abilities for the CPU
    • Good enough case, fans, heatsink to make sure it idles at 30 and maximum 50c
    • Minimal noise levels, lowest power consumption and heat output
    • Lower the budget the better, but the extreme cap is 5K
    • Extreme multitasking, stable at full load
    • Magnetic HDD enclosure w/ 3TB HDD to destroy on command
    • Support for as many monitors as possible, preferably 6
    • Above listed monitors in 1440p preferred resolution, higher monitor size, thin bezel
    • Cheapest dynamic LED keyboard available on the market
    • Water cooling kit and all parts to correctly cool the entire system
    • LED RGB strips for case lighting, with desktop software controls
    • Highest maximum RAM support available for the build

Thanks, been looking to upgrade for a while now.

Grave, would you consider not overclocking at all, and instead running two xeon X5550 or something similar? They run together with more processing power than an extremely overclocked i7, so it might be a better option, although it is expensive.

I'm not familiar with server parts. Would it still handle gaming pretty well? Do server motherboard support Eyefinity or SLI? How about server RAM, can you get low latency, high MHz for cheap?

3930K, you don't need the 3970X, minimal difference, OC the 3930k abit and get to the 3970X level, and if you OC alot, that would be awesome.
I didn't add custom water-cooling, you can remove the H100i and grab a pump etc.. and water cool your shit.
    4 SSD's for RAID 10 (250GB ea)
    3TB HDD
    i7 3930k, with 2 7970's @ 1.1GHz, that's a beast. I don't know about a monitor, grab a Catleap (I included it in price) 27" 1440p monitor,it's cheap, it's amazing too.
